Today we celebrate National Superhero Day — a day to recognize the heroes who inspire us in both big and quiet ways.

While comic book heroes may wear capes, many real-life heroes are found in our own families, neighborhoods, and communities. They are the teachers, first responders, caregivers, parents, grandparents, veterans, volunteers, and everyday people who show courage, kindness, and love when it matters most.

At Gompf Funeral Service, we are honored to hear the stories of so many everyday heroes — lives remembered for the difference they made, the people they helped, and the love they shared.

We’re proud to have two of our funeral directors, Joshua and Geoffrey, in Washington, D.C., this week for the annual National Funeral Directors Association Advocacy Summit. This important event gives funeral professionals the opportunity to sit face-to-face with elected officials and share how legislative decisions impact funeral service, the families we serve, and the communities that count on us every day.
NFDA works year-round to advocate for our profession, but there is real power when funeral directors show up in person and share the stories of the families and communities they serve. Those conversations help lawmakers see the human side of policy and the importance of thoughtful support for funeral service. Thank you both for representing our communities.

Congratulations to our Funeral Director, Geoffrey, and his wife, Whitney, on the birth of their beautiful daughter, Aggie Jo! She was welcomed home with lots of love by her proud siblings, Grier and Peri. There’s nothing sweeter than a house filled with little voices, big hugs, and now one more pair of tiny little feet leaving love everywhere they go. Welcome to the world, Aggie Jo! 💕
