Christmas reminds us that home is more than a place. It’s the comfort of familiar routines, the warmth of shared moments, and the peace of knowing you’re not alone. It’s an honor to help make that possible for the families we serve here in Acadiana.

As we move into the holiday season, many families begin to notice new or changing needs in their aging loved ones — and often, the added stress that family caregivers quietly carry.

🍁 Happy Thanksgiving from A Place at Home – Lafayette! 🧡

Today, we are especially grateful for our wonderful caregivers, our incredible clients, and the families who trust us to be part of their lives. You are the heart of everything we do.

This week, we were honored to host a special Thanksgiving lunch for our caregivers and clients. Sharing a meal, laughter, and stories reminded us once again why our APH family is so unique — it truly feels like home when we’re together.

In the spirit of gratitude and giving, we also partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank to help support local families in need. We’re proud to give back to the community that continues to support us in so many ways.

Happy Veterans Day from A Place at Home – Lafayette

Today, we celebrate and honor the real MVPs, our incredible veteran clients! Your courage, sacrifice, and service mean more than words can express, and it is our privilege to care for you. To make the day a little brighter, our team delivered fresh, homemade gumbo to each of our veterans and spent time visiting with them — moments we truly cherish. We were also proud to partner with Leonville Elementary School’s Beta Club, whose amazing students donated thoughtful care packages filled with handwritten notes. Sharing those with our veteran clients was the sweetest highlight of the day.

Supporting our veterans isn’t just something we do — it’s something we love. Thank you for your service, and thank you for trusting us to be part of your care. 💙🤍❤️

Honoring Our Own

At A Place at Home - Lafayette, caring for veterans isn't just something we do--it's part of who we are. Our owner, Larry Thomas, proudly served in the U.S. Army and continues to serve his fellow veterans today as the Commander of Arnaudville VFW Post 5153.

His leadership, compassion, and dedication to helping others are at the heart of our mission. Supporting those who served our country is a big part of why a Place at Home - Lafayette exists--because every veteran deserves respect , care, and a helping hand.
