🚨 5 Tips to Help Decrease Stress During the Holidays 🚨
The holiday season is a great time for family and friends, but it can also be a very stressful time of year. Here are just a few tips to help you bring those stress levels down during the holidays.
Meditate: Taking time to meditate is a great way to relieve those holiday stressors. It doesn't have to take a long time, even if it's for 5-10 minutes that will help to alleviate your stress. So, if you're not used to meditating, try to start off with just a few minutes and see how you feel. If it helps, then try to add on a few more minutes every time.
Laugh: It not only reduces cortisol levels, but it all release endorphins. With all that laughter, you also increase your immune system function as well as relax muscles. When all the laughter is over, hopefully you will have forgotten why you were stressed in the first place. Or, at least, maybe it looks differently afterwards.
Limit screen time and social media: In today's world what we have on our screens or feeds can be the cause of our stress. During the holidays, why not take away one more added stress, at least for a little bit.
Sleep: Restful sleep is super important to help with stress levels. During sleep, your body works to recover and restore itself. The better sleep you have the better and more refreshed you are going to feel the next day. Your sleep will also help stabilize those hormones that may be raging during the day.
Nature: Sunlight, bird song, and grounding are just a few things that can help bring down those stress levels. Sunlight helps to improve your circadian rhythm, as well as boost your overall wellbeing and immune system response. Bird song has been shown to bring your stress levels down as well. Grounding has multiple benefits by reducing inflammation, and exchanging the electrical charge within your body.
