Dry eye is a common condition and is mostly seen in middle aged or older adults but can also occur younger ages. Dry eye can happen if you spend a lot of time looking at a computer, tablet, phone, etc. At our office we utilize a tool called LipiView, a camera to capture a picture of your meibomian glands, which determines if you blink fully and shows how much oil your glands are secreting with each blink. We want to diagnose in the earliest stage of dry eye disease to have the best outcomes with treatments!

Spending time on the water is what many peoples’ summer consist of in the summer season whether that is on the lake, ocean, and or the pool! Sunlight reflecting off sand and water further increases exposure to UV radiation and increases your risk for developing eye problems!

So don’t forget to always pack your sunglasses!

Also, please tag us in pictures of you wearing your frames and or sunglasses from Carlisle Vision Care! We love seeing all of the places and activities you are seeing through your Carlisle Vision Care lenses and frames!
