Love was in the air at Chapel Pointe this weekend! 💌 Residents were delighted when kids from SPY stopped by to share Valentines and smiles.

One photo capture the pure wonder of receiving a Valentine, while another shows a beautiful connection across generations — a visitor giving a Valentine to the mom of his “Big” from Big Brothers Big Sisters, and receiving a hug in return. 💖

Moments like these are a powerful reminder of how meaningful intergenerational connections can be — bringing everyone together in ways that leave a lasting impact on all involved.

We’ve welcomed visitors from all over the world this past week, and it’s been wonderful to hear how God’s love connects us across backgrounds and experiences.

During a recent Chapel Chat, residents heard from Rev. Quinton de Beer of Carlisle United Methodist Church. Originally from South Africa, Quinton shared his journey from entrepreneur and coffee business owner to answering a call to ministry. He previously served as a Mission Director in South Africa, supporting Methodist schools, orphanages, and entrepreneurial education. A husband and father of three daughters, his story was a meaningful reminder of faith guiding every season of life.

History came to the table at Chapel Pointe this week!

Residents enjoyed a fascinating Lunch & Learn with Matthew March from the Cumberland County Historical Society, who shared stories about U.S. presidents with ties to our own backyard. A highlight was learning about President James Buchanan — born in Pennsylvania and a student at Dickinson College — and how his life connected to the history of our region.

It’s always special to discover that national history and local history are more connected than we think!

We were honored to welcome Dr. Daniel Shayesteh to Chapel Pointe for devotions yesterday. Originally from Iran, Dr. Shayesteh shared his powerful personal journey of faith — from growing up Muslim, to years of study, hardship, and searching, to ultimately discovering a personal relationship with Jesus that transformed his understanding of love, freedom, and forgiveness.

Through his story, residents heard a message of hope, resilience, and the impact faith can have on individuals and families. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from voices and experiences from around the world that remind us how God works in every chapter of life. 💛

In celebration of the PA Farm Show and America’s 250th anniversary, our residents enjoyed their own red, white, and blue milkshakes this week. More than a treat, it was a chance to share memories, spark conversations, and experience a little piece of the Farm Show together. Creating meaningful moments like these, centered around our residents and what brings them joy, is what makes days like this so special at Chapel Pointe ❤️

Simple pleasures in life come in all shapes and sizes. Leading up to Christmas, some of these joys included visiting with pets, playing (and winning!) games, crafting, baking cookies for others, decorating gingerbread houses, spotting staff in surprising outfits, and much more.
