🦷 Not everything labeled “whitening” actually whitens. If it doesn’t contain hydrogen or carbamide peroxide, it isn’t changing the internal stain structure of your enamel. It may dehydrate the surface temporarily, which makes teeth look brighter for a few hours. It may be abrasive – physically removing tooth structure. That is not the same thing.
🦷 More lip filler does not equal a better smile. When the upper lip becomes too heavy, it covers the top teeth at rest and while smiling. That shortens visible tooth display and unintentionally AGES the smile. Subtle, balanced work enhances. Overcorrection distracts.
🦷 Invisalign is not just cosmetic. When teeth are misaligned, forces distribute unevenly. That increases wear, fracture risk, and gum recession over time. Proper alignment protects enamel, bone, and long-term stability. Longevity is the real flex.
🦷 Water flossers are powerful, but they are NOT a replacement. They disrupt bacteria. String floss physically removes it. You need BOTH if you want optimal gum health.
🦷 And insurance? It was designed to control cost, not optimize health. Annual maximums and frequency limits are financial decisions, not biological ones. Treatment timing should be dictated by what your teeth and bone need, not what insurance dictates. Insurances don’t care about your health - they care about how little they can pay.
