Why people are sick?
Travelling a lot lately with people coughing / sneezing and trying to release their accumulated mucus at all costs 🥲
It’s the winter, it’s the flu season, yeah.
So half of the year people just accept they’ll be full of mucus, feeling sick and entertaining us with their nasal-throat sounds on airplanes 😂

Trust me, I get it. Growing up I was always sick and sneezing.

I guess where I’m going with this is… where I’m always going 😂
1. There are things to do to support your immune system during the cold season. And we all know it pretty well. Exercise, drink ginger tea, heavy on turmeric, dress warm. I also wrote in the past how breathing techniques and applying oil into nostrils helps to protect us from viruses.

Now let’s see what NOT TO DO. Things that KILL our immune system.
☠️ Sugar. Yikes! Is it that bad to just eat a bit every day? Yes. Sugar kills our immune system cause:
It feeds bad bacteria in our gut
It creates mucus
and messes up our sleep.
Try being sugar free for a week and see how your body can bounce back to good sleep, better digestion, less cravings, and less mucus. I’m a very practical person. If you don’t believe me, but want to stop sneezing in public places - just give it a try 😋

💀 Dairy products. But milk is healthy! There is calcium in the cheese! All I’m going to say is: inflammation and mucus. No mammal continues to consume dairy into adulthood. If you can’t let go of the calcium - read latest research. Dairy actually washes the calcium right out of you…

I’ve been sugar free and dairy free for over 90 days now. I still have sugar free treats sometimes and use almond milk. And you know - it’s not that bad. It’s actually very good.

I haven’t been sick 😷 even though always exposed to viruses while travelling and going to the office and teaching 30+ ppl yoga classes. My sleep is good, my immune system is strong. And I’m not releasing my mucus loudly in public places 😂😂😂

So take care of yourself, do things that support your immune system and don’t do things that kill it.

I’m always here if you need advice or a sugar free buddy, cause it’s more fun that way 🥰

How to become a good yoga teacher? Apart from ‘get certified’ :)

1. Practice yourself. Daily. Even for a bit.
When you practice and know how good you feel after yoga, when you healed your back pain or anxiety with yoga - like I did. When you know the shift meditation brings into your mind. When you felt on the body and energy levels how breathing mindfully for 5 minutes lifts you up and brightens you inside out…
YOU FULLY EMBODY THIS EXPERIENCE.

It gives you confidence when planning a class and teaching it. You KNOW it’s going to feel good for your students. You KNOW they’ll be leaving your class full of energy, calm and a bit more cleared of blocks.

When you practiced yourself and teach a class that same day - students can feel it. You ‘bank’ your energy and energy doesn’t lie. They can feel you are the product of your own practice - focused, calm, PRESENT with them. So, they can drop into their own presence during class. I can focus almost instantly in the presence of my yoga teacher and struggle alone. My best meditations are by his side. Cause he’s been meditating for the last 30 years. You get my point :)

2. Practice how to teach. Get your hours in.
It’s hard to be confident in something you haven’t practiced enough - be that public speaking, horse back riding, making a dish or teaching a yoga class.
So:
Teach classes to your friends.
Substitute other teachers classes.
Find an experienced Yoga teacher as a mentor and get their feedback.
Attend your yoga teachers’ classes regularly to remind yourself of the verbiage, transitions and posture options.

I hope you’ll find this post helpful and inspiring! Let me know what you think & I’m always here for support when you need it! ♥️
