I often get asked about why I became a doula and I struggle with sharing but the truth is the reason that brought me into this work is the same reason that keeps me in this work.
I love when I show up for a birth and I’ve got an amazing team of providers who hear moms and listen but it isn’t always the case and when it isn’t I’m glad I can be there to whisper truth into them.
Your birth experience matters. It shapes who you are and the confidence you bring with you following your experience.
It makes a huge difference when you are trusted, when your words are heard and respected.
It makes a difference if you’re treated like a person instead of a patient with an illness.
Birth is a sacred portal of transformation. It’s the moment we walk in as one version of ourselves and walk out forever changed.
It’s a place to be honored, where we encourage women to go deep within themselves and trust that their bodies are meant for exactly this moment.
Be excited for birth and the magic it brings, for when you come out of birth you’ll see yourself with a strength you didn’t know existed, a love that you couldn’t even begin to imagine and a trust in your body that blows your mind.
Our bodies are amazing and birth is one of the many aspects in life where we have to get out of our heads and into our bodies to fully experience what birth is all about.
Build the team who will speak truth and life into you when you need it the most.
