As long as you believe you are accountable (or to blame) for your child’s grades, behavior, etc, you are under his/her control. Remember, as a parent your job is to INSPIRE your child do his/her job well -not to ENSURE that s/he does it well.

Your child is stressing over an upcoming change that you know will cause minor temporary distress, yet be much more beneficial in the long run. Our first temptation may be to dismiss our child's concerns, while explaining how "eventually" it will all work out. BE CAREFUL! So often in our hurry to help our children feel better, we can accidentally send the message that their feelings are not important.
