There a few vitamins and minerals that most people are deficient in and this morning I am going to specifically talk about B6.

Before we go on, there is a lot to know when it comes to incorporating supplements so I highly recommend that you work with a qualified practitioner.
In addition to my nutritional programs, I offer two other types of services:
Functional Blood Analysis and Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA).
Alongside of these tests I am able to create a very specific supplement protocol for my clients so that we are very clear and intentional when addressing health issues, deficiencies and imbalances.
I offer everyone a free initial consultation. If you’d like to set that up feel to private message me or visit: http://www.KellyJeanWellness.com

Let's talk about vitamin B 6...

B6, also known as pyridoxine, is an essential vitamin that plays a powerful role in the health of your whole body for example, it helps make DNA, hemoglobin and neurotransmitters. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It helps improve mood, protects your heart and has shown to lower your risk in eye disease.
Additionally, from the hair tissue mineral analysis, I am able to see how most people are burning through magnesium so I utilize B6 to help deliver magnesium to the cells. B6 deficiency is associated with cellular magnesium loss.

It's important to note that vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin which means that whatever your body does not use it disposes the excess through your urine.

The best form of B6 is: Pyridoxal 5’phosphate (P5P) because it is activated B6 so it’s ready to go. For quality purposes I recommend the following companies…Pure Encapsulations, Designs for Health, Thorne, DaVinci Laboratories and Seeking Health.

As for dosage, that depends on each person. I would not recommend supplementing over 50 mg. until you work with a practitioner. The best time to take B6 is with lunch.

Here's some good news…
As a practitioner, I’m officially on Fullscript..I use Fullscript to give my clients easy access to top-quality supplement companies and wellness products with a 10% discount.
It’s different than ordering on Amazon because ordering through my account you get 10% off all supplements and other wellness products all the time.
Most importantly, Fullscript is highly regulated by the companies themselves so you never have to worry about getting your supplements from a third-party company where things can be tampered with.
Whether you are a client of mine or not, you are welcome to order whatever supplements you are currently taking and receive this discount… Fullscript carries most all of the companies out there.
Sign up for free with my dispensary link if you want access to my account. Also, shipping costs are free for orders $50 or more and under $50, it’s only $4.95 for standard shipping.
I just want to make sure that if you are taking supplements already, you have access to a place where you can be sure of efficacy.
Here is the link to sign up.

My intentions were to write a few newsletters about the solution to overcoming emotional and compulsive overeating. Once I began writing however, I realized that there’s way too much to share in just a few newsletters. It’s time that I write a book.
With that being said, stay tuned for that complete version. For now, I will give you an outline of what I have experienced to be the roadmap to finally obtaining a normal and healthy relationship with food.

First, what constitutes a normal and healthy relationship with food? That may mean something different for everyone.

For me, it means a few things:
• I no longer use food to cope with my emotions and/or difficult times in my life.
• Binging is a thing of the past.
• I am completely in charge of food. Food no longer controls me.
• Healthy eating is finally a lifestyle. It is no longer just a fleeting experience.
• I have maintained a normal weight for over 25 years.
• I am educated on nutrition and how to fuel my body in the best way possible in order to support my health.
• 80% of my meals are designed for blood sugar stabilization, lowering inflammation as well as increasing vitamins and minerals.
• If I splurge and enjoy desserts or other types of foods at a party or during the holidays etc…it does not send me into a tail spin where it continues on and I feel out of control. Instead, I am able to immediately realign with my normal healthy eating.
• I do not use exercise to burn calories and/or skip meals in order to compensate for a splurge.
• I am able to take just a bite or two of something sweet and stop there. It no longer triggers an “out of control” sensation to keep going.

Now that I have shared what a normal and healthy relationship with food looks like for me, what is your personal definition of a normal and healthy relationship with food?
Writing it down is a very powerful exercise. It brings the desired reality into focus so that the creation of that reality begins to take form.

There are many steps to overcoming emotional and compulsive overeating. Here is an outline of the roadmap that worked for me which I will be diving more deeply into when I write my book.

• The Desire to Stop the Vicious Cycle- Having the desire means that you are imagining a new reality. Imagining a new reality allows you to manifest it.

• Hitting Bottom- This is a point where the pain becomes so great that you become totally willing to do whatever it takes.

• Surrender- After hitting bottom, the willingness to surrender your distorted love affair with food becomes possible, as well as surrendering all the ways you’ve been trying to control it yourself.

• Creating New Boundaries with a Healthy Food Plan- Before you begin the emotional and spiritual work, you must know how to support your body physiologically in order to blood sugar stabilize, balance brain chemicals and lower physiological cravings. Without this in place, it will make that emotional and spiritual process much more difficult and perhaps impossible.

• Bridging the Gap- This step is about developing a relationship with your emotional self. Emotional eating means that we are abandoning a huge part of who we are. For me this was the root cause underneath my compulsive overeating. By bridging this gap, you will no longer feel the urge to eat over your feelings. You will feel so empowered once you accomplish this.

• Giving and Receiving More Love– When we learn how to embrace our emotions, something beautiful happens; we begin to develop compassion for ourselves and others. This profound connection allows us to operate more fully in our heart so that we begin to receive more love as well.

• Living More Fully– How many dreams or personal goals did you put on hold or give up on because of your preoccupation with food, fear and/or isolation. Once I experienced freedom from my bo***ge to food as well as a new healthy body and more energy, I was able to become a fitness professional and eventually a nutritionist. I was also able to model again after having to put that on hold years prior due to my inability to control my weight.
Life becomes bigger and more meaningful. Most importantly, we get to be who we are more fully.
There is no more hiding. We develop more courage to put ourselves out there in a bigger way.

These are just some of the steps to freedom from emotional and compulsive overeating. I am very excited about expanding on all of these steps and more in my future book.

For now, I leave you with the inspiration that no matter what degree your struggles are with this issue, you too can gain full control and have the healthy body and life that you want.

For those of you who are wanting one-on-one support, you are welcome to reach out and set up a time for us to talk.

Most of my clients who come to me 40 years old and up share the same complaint, “As I’ve gotten older, no matter what I do I cannot lose weight”.
They are very frustrated because they feel like they’ve tried everything.
In our first couple of hours working together, they finally understand the full story behind why they were not able to lose weight. They learn exactly what and how they need to eat in order to rev up their metabolism. They’re thrilled when they see it manifest and actually experience weight loss in their first week.
As excited as they are about their weight loss, I always remind them that weight loss is just a great side effect...there are much more meaningful things happening inside that beautiful “machine” of theirs.
The body is just like a machine that requires the right type of fuel, in the right amounts at the right time.
As we get older our bodies are much more sensitive to certain foods and substances so you need to know how to support it at this stage of life. We are also more affected by stress and toxic overload which is why the adrenals, thyroid, gut and liver become compromised.
Food is the most important foundation to lower stress, detoxify and rebuild the body’s systems and glandular health.
Knowing how to utilize supplements in the right way are also key. It’s important to understand which ones specifically your body is needing and more importantly which ones to avoid.
Once you get everything organized such as your food, supplements, sleep and the right type of exercise, you’ll be well on your way.
When we take away what the body doesn’t want and we give the body what it needs, it’s able to serve us in all the ways it’s meant to.
It’s always a thrill for me to lead people to great health.

Many women come to me feeling overwhelmed by symptoms associated with hormone imbalances. The most common symptoms are unexplained weight gain and inability to lose it no matter what they do. They are not able to sleep, they have hot flashes and night sweats, they have very low energy and feel irritable and/or more anxious than normal. These are just some of the many symptoms I hear about.

In my 8 week program I'm able to help them naturally balance their hormones and get them losing weight, sleeping much better, free from hot flashes and night sweats and feeling a radiance that they mistakenly thought was lost from aging.

I am not an advocate of using hormone replacement therapy (HRT) because I know the dangers of trying to manipulate these powerful chemicals.

It is much more effective to naturally restore the glands that produce the hormones. I use food and super foods to accomplish this. You must also get rid of inflammation and stabilize your blood sugar so that the body is no longer in fight or flight. This is also accomplished with food and super foods.

Next you must look at filling in deficiencies because all of our glands require vitamins and minerals in order to function normally. Most people are not on the right types of supplements or any at all and this leads to weakened glands. A leaky gut is a lot of times the reason why people are nutrient deficient so a gut repair is sometimes necessary.

Remember that hormones are chemicals that are produced by glands in the endocrine system. Hormones travel through the bloodstream to the tissues and organs, delivering messages that tell the organs what to do and when to do it.

Hormones are important for regulating most major bodily processes, so a hormonal imbalance can affect a wide range of bodily functions. Hormones help to regulate:

metabolism and appetite
heart rate
sleep cycles
reproductive cycles and s*xual function
general growth and development
mood and stress levels
body temperature

Are you experiencing one or more of the following symptoms?

Difficulty sleeping
Unexplained weight gain or inability to lose weight
Low energy and fatigue
Hot flashes and night sweats
Anxiety and irritability
Very dry skin or skin rashes
Thinning brittle hair
Constipation and/or diarrhea
Bloating
Vaginal dryness
Reduced s*x drive
Blood sugar imbalances
Osteoporosis (weak, brittle bones)

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms associated with hormone imbalances and have not been able to resolve these issues, I'm happy to talk with you. Simply Private Message me or you may email me at: info@kellyjeanwellness.com
I look forward to supporting you.
Warmly,
Kelly Jean Dammeyer
