War. Possibly the worst of things. Regardless of the purpose or advantage or result, it is hard to imagine something else that can rob a family - a husband, a wife, a child, a father, a mother - of so much.
There a more stories than our soul can bare, but this is one - a tribute to Lt James Cathey - is one that captures so much, prompts so much thought and emotion.
But with great loss comes powerful reflections and inspiration.
The son of this US Marine, James Cathey Jr will turn 20 years old this year. He never met his hero, but has the honor of carrying his name.

For those I love, I will sacrifice.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." -John 15:13
Pause this weekend, if only for a moment, and remember the many who have made the greatest sacrifice. Remember, too, their families - the fathers, the mothers, the sons, the daughters, the brothers, the sisters, the friends - who carry on with an empty chair at their BBQ.
Then reflect on how you live your life.
Live with empathy and grace.
Live intentionally.
Live with purpose to serve others.
