I don’t get people that want to know what their powerlift numbers should be at before doing Strongman.
That is like saying you will keep playing golf until you are ready for tennis 🤔

The evolution of a lifters view on Smolov

1. That looks scary

3. I'm making all kinds of gains!
4. I'm so sore that means it's working!
5. Knee is feeling funny must continue
6. I hit a squat pr! Let's ignore what happened to my other lifts
7. After 8 weeks my squat gains went back to normal and I've infrequently trained as I'm trying to recover from injuries

A misconception I see constantly.
Just because you can get the log to your shoulders does not mean you have a good log clean.

From all the coaching I’ve done over the past 5+ years I’ve found most people that struggle with the press have a very inefficient clean and poor rack position.

One of the main keys to a good log press is an efficient clean that sets you up in the best position to press from while expending the least amount of energy.

If your log press is well below your barbell press the clean is likely what is holding you back and what needs to be addressed.

Body weight front squats for reps (185) I hit 34 reps. My goal was 50 but I went down and my legs just buckled it was a weird feeling.
Loved the side quests IMO I should have done more of these and focused less on needing to be ready for the next Arnold/nationals
