Have you ever been told your labs are normal even though you don’t feel well?

That happens more often than people realize.

Lab reference ranges are based on data from millions of people, which means a value can fall within the normal range but still not be optimal for how your body functions.

Another issue is that many conventional lab panels are very limited.

We often use Leucovorin in our patients as they may have cerebral folate deficiency. We have been using this drug in certain cases for at least 2 years and there is decades of safety behind it --while there is none for the combinations of psychiatric drugs some patients are on. Health insurance is incredibly important for things like hospital care, surgery, and emergencies.

But outside of the hospital, the insurance model has created real limitations in healthcare.

Over time, insurance reimbursements to physicians have been reduced, forcing many practices to shorten appointment times just to stay afloat.

That’s one reason so many patients feel rushed during doctor visits.

Doctors often want more time to ask questions and understand what’s going on with their patients, but the system doesn’t always allow for that.

At our practice, we operate outside the insurance model so we can spend more time with patients and truly address their concerns.

Does your PANS/PANDAS doctor have a step-by-step customizable treatment plan for you right when you walk in the door?!

They should 😅

This is called the Fully Functional Process and we believe we have the most organized, systems-based approach to treating PANS and PANDAS. It considers the whole ecosystem of the patient so that long-term recovery can occur. As we have seen in our practice and in our own child, PANS does not have to be an identity, and future flares are not inevitable for most patients.

This is the approach to care we take with every single patient, whether we’re treating PANS, PANDAS, or something else entirely.

Mold exposure isn’t only about allergies. Mold can release mycotoxins, which are toxic to the nervous system and have been shown in numerous articles to impair immune response.

Mycotoxins can contribute to immune dysregulation, where the immune system may be both under- and over-active. They’re also odorless — so the absence of a musty smell doesn’t rule them out.

Homes with water damage, leaks, or dampness are important to evaluate, and an in-person mold inspection is recommended as the very first step.
