ERP is recognized as a first-line treatment for OCD and is appropriate as stand-alone therapy. Large analyses comparing treatments in children and adolescents show higher response and remission rates with ERP than with medication alone.

Did you know PANDAS can occur weeks to months after an infection?? 👀

For this reason, throat swab Strep testing and even blood Strep antibodies may be negative with PANDAS. In addition, if the diagnosis is PANS, the infection can be from other bacteria like Mycoplasma, and even viruses.
