Everyone please welcome the newest member to the Empowered Origins team, Renee! She has been a patient in our office for over a year and has loved it so much that she decided to join the team! She'll be mostly behind the scenes, but you'll see her from time to time in the office gathering content for her marketing role. Be sure to say hello when you see her đź‘‹

Hey, I’m Renee! I am so excited to be joining the the Empowered Origins team as a Care Advocate! I grew up on Lake Wawasee and moved to the Indianapolis area back in 2008 to finish my Accounting and Finance degree at IUPUI.

My journey into holistic health started a year before my first pregnancy in 2021, where I first learned about neurologically focused chiropractic care. We moved to Westfield, IN at the beginning of 2024 and needed to find a closer chiropractor. I scoured social media groups for recommended pediatric and pregnancy focused chiropractors and found numerous recommendations for Empowered Origins! I officially started my care in 2025 to help get through my pregnancy and have never looked back!

I truly believe my postpartum journey has been easier after my second pregnancy and attribute it to my care at Empowered Origins. Learning more holistic ways to help throughout my journey has become my passion and I also really enjoy teaching others the same!

Outside of the office, you can find me taking walks, staying active with our two kids, playing princess dress-up games, crafting, and spending time together as a family!

I am grateful to be part of this amazing practice and cannot wait for you to experience it too!

The OBs and Midwives are doing amazing tests, but there’s one that most providers are missing. And that is testing the health of mom and baby’s nervous system. 🧠

As prenatal nervous system experts, we’re all about seeing how your nervous system is functioning going into labor and birth... AND how baby is functioning too!
To learn more about these 3 non-invasive tests, comment “SCAN” and we’ll send you the link!

All that monitoring. All that testing. All those moments of "we need to keep an eye on this." But nobody mentioned what chronic stress does to a developing baby's nervous system.

Did you know challenges like colic, reflux, and sensory issues often trace back to pregnancy?

Mommas, you can learn more at the link in our bio because it's time we start talking about the most important tests in your pregnancy.

Mold isn’t as rare as we might think, and it isn’t always obvious that there's home exposure.

It can grow behind walls, under floors, or anywhere moisture lingers. And while many people think of mold as “just an allergy issue,” for some kids, it acts as a constant stressor on the nervous system.

That matters because a nervous system under stress can’t regulate or heal well.

Here are a few things parents often notice:

❌ Symptoms that don’t fully resolve with care

❌ Kids who seem stuck in fight-or-flight

❌ Sleep, immunity, or behavior struggles that don’t make sense

And the biggest clue: things improve when you're away from home

When mold exposure is removed and moisture issues are fixed, families often see meaningful progress because the nervous system is no longer fighting a hidden stressor 24/7.

Sometimes healing stalls not because care isn’t working, but because something in the environment is still in the way.

Wondering if mold could be part of your child’s picture? Click the link in our bio to learn more.

You’re doing everything right…

diet ✔️ supplements ✔️ therapies ✔️ adjustments ✔️
…but your child is still stuck. 💔

What if it’s not another therapy? What if it’s something in your home?

🦠 Mold exposure is one of the most overlooked reasons kids plateau. It keeps the nervous system in survival mode.

đźš© If your child does better at school or on vacation, their body is telling you something.

When mold is addressed, healing can finally happen. đź’›

Some days moms say,

“I didn’t really get anything done today.”

But here’s what actually happened:

You fed little mouths, again and again.

You washed bottles. You pumped. You cleaned the toys up 1,000,000 times.

You held tiny bodies through naps that wouldn’t stick.

You rocked. You swayed. You soothed nervous systems that just needed safety.

You changed diapers.

You wiped spills.

You tried to eat while standing at the counter.

You tried to rest, even if rest didn’t come.

You showed up for adjustments.

You cared for your family’s nervous systems.

You felt joy.

You felt guilt.

And at the end of the day, with a tired body and a full heart,

You quietly thought,

“I didn’t get much done.”

But you did.

You did the work that doesn’t show up on a to-do list, but matters more than anything else. ♥️
