“After falling and breaking my hip on Halloween, I came to Indianapolis Rehabilitation Hospital, and what a gift and a relief it has been! I’ve been so well cared for here and want to especially thank the doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and all the support staff. After a week of intense work, I’m heading home to continue my recovery but will always remember the excellent care I received. It’s a beautiful facility filled with passionate professionals.

I’d especially like to recognize Drs. David and Ryan, nurses Beth and Charisse, and NP Nicole for taking the time to listen to my concerns. Abigail, Austin, and Noah—my physical therapists—are truly at the top of their game. It’s inspiring to meet such dedicated professionals who have chosen careers of care and compassion. We help patients and families build strength and independence through balance exercises, mobility training, and home safety education. Before discharge, our team educates our patients and caregivers on home safety by providing home checklists and tips on preventing falls.

At Indianapolis Rehabilitation Hospital, teamwork and compassion go hand in hand. From therapists to nurses, every staff member works together to provide patient-centered care every step of the way.

Kay shared this about us: “The Occupational and Physical Therapists are absolutely amazing here. They each worked with me for 1 1/2 hours each day, for a total of 3 hours per day. I worked with quite a few therapists, and they were all very thorough and knowledgeable. They encouraged me to keep working hard so I could get back to the way I was before my surgery. The nursing staff were also great—very caring and professional, making sure I had my meds on time and checked on my pain. All of the staff here worked together as a great team to help me get independent enough to go home and continue working with some home health therapists.”

We help families and caregivers manage challenges related to mobility and daily function. We offer support groups for conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, amputation, and even one specifically for caregivers. Patients and their loved ones can attend these support groups where they hear from other’s experiences, learn about available resources and know they aren’t alone. Our hospital Case Managers assist our patients and loved ones to prepare for their return to their community with the resources they need to enjoy life at the fullest.
