👆👆👆 this 👏 right 👏here. we aren’t sure where the concept of the vaccine affecting fertility originated, but it makes no scientific sense. we have zero reason to believe that the vaccine will affect fertility. period. this quote is from Dr. Gabriel Bosslet, a critical care physician who created and authors the Hoosier COVID-19 Update on Facebook- if you aren’t already following, give him a follow for a reliable and easy to understand breakdown of statistics and scientific updates.

Medical science is about cautious data analysis and the wisdom to pause and reinvestigate if there is cause. This is why vaccines are safe. The risks and complications of COVID-19 continue to outweigh the risks of vaccination, and we continue to recommend the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. The risk of blood clots in ICU patients with COVID is 5-10%. Over 4 million doses of J&J vaccine have been given, and there were 6 reported cases of blood clots. This is 0.00015%, which, in the vaccine world, is enough to pause and investigate (yet still very significantly lower than the risk of blood clots with COVID infection). This is why vaccines are safe.

a few things haven’t changed at Carmel Pediatrics since Dr. Wiese was a patient here...her favorite? Dr. Stoesz, her childhood pediatrician! (second favorite is the roll-top desk she used to hide under when it was time for shots 🤷🏻‍♀️😬). These two make a great team 🙌🙌🙌

5/5 Carmel Pediatrics doctors have now received 2 doses of the COVID vaccine. Some of us just had a sore arm, some of us were grateful for the chills/aches that reminded us our immune systems were working. We recommend getting the vaccine because we believe in the science and have found it to show that the vaccine is beneficial and safe. We spent the week helping our friends and relatives ages 80+ get registered for their vaccines because we believe it could save their lives (70+ friends, you’re on deck!). If you’re on the fence, .nicolebaldwin has some excellent and accurate summaries of safety data. If you have questions, please comment below. We strongly believe that this science is fact, not opinion, and therefore we will not be engaging in debate on this matter. Here’s to science helping us end this pandemic and save lives! props to for getting this process rolling.
