Happy Employee Appreciation Day!

Today is a reminder of something that Dale Carnegie taught should be practiced year-round: show honest, sincere appreciation.

Recognition builds trust, and appreciation strengthens relationships. When people feel seen for their effort, commitment, and character, they show up with even greater confidence and purpose.

Take a moment today to thank someone on our teams. Be specific & genuine. Let them know the impact they make.

A few sincere words can go a long way today and everyday.

If you're curious about what coaching is, this is for you.

At Dale Carnegie, our coaching is both transformational and action-oriented. It starts with your goals, your vision, and where you want to go — both in the short term and long term.

A leadership coach helps you clarify where you are today and what it will take to move forward. Through powerful questions and honest dialogue, you’ll identify your strengths to build on, the barriers that may be holding you back, and the plan that will move you toward meaningful progress.

Coaching is a partnership. It’s open, focused, and growth-centered. It includes celebrating what you do well and addressing the areas that need refinement so you can continue to evolve as a leader.

In the end, having a coach means having someone on your side — someone committed to helping you excel and become the very best version of yourself.

If you’re ready to move from where you are to where you want to be, let’s start that conversation.

Psychological safety is improving — slowly.

Only 10% of managers and individual contributors strongly believe that if they make a mistake, it won’t be held against them. That number matters.

When employees don’t feel safe expressing ideas, admitting mistakes, or raising concerns, innovation slows, trust weakens, and engagement suffers. High-performing teams become harder to sustain.

Our latest State of Organizational Health Report shows progress, while also revealing that psychological safety is still shaped by hierarchy. Leaders report higher levels of confidence than managers and team members. That gap influences how openly people communicate across an organization.

The real question is simple:
Do your employees feel psychologically safe?

Innovation is gaining ground in 2025. Fewer employees describe their workplaces as stagnant, and momentum is building across industries.

At the same time, the data reveals an important insight: nearly six in ten leaders believe their culture strongly supports innovation, while managers and team members report far less progress. For many employees, innovation feels visible in strategy conversations yet less consistent in day-to-day work.

Innovation is moving forward. Sustaining it requires alignment, clarity, and leadership that reinforces it at every level.

Most people underestimate their potential long before the world ever does. Growth begins the moment we challenge the limits we’ve placed on ourselves.

At Dale Carnegie, we believe those hidden possibilities are where transformation starts.

You’re capable of more than you imagine—sometimes it just takes the right environment to bring it to the surface.

When the workload increases, many leaders shift into task mode without realizing it. As responsibilities grow and pressure increases, the focus can gradually shift toward checking boxes and driving output rather than developing people.

Task mode tends to show up quietly. We might notice conversations become more transactional, collaboration narrows, and team members receive direction without deeper dialogue. Work continues moving forward, yet connection and engagement can begin to weaken.

Effective leadership requires awareness. When we recognize these patterns early, we can reset our focus, reconnect our teams to shared goals, and strengthen the relationships that sustain performance over time.

Have you experienced task mode before? How did you move out of it?

Finding peace often begins with perspective. When we look beyond ourselves — toward purpose, service, and contribution — we can regain steadiness and become better, more grounded leaders for our teams.

When this participant joined our Transformational Leadership experience, she walked in on Day 1 saying, “I just want to be a better communicator.” She knew she rambled, and she wanted to learn how to be clearer and more concise.

When she was challenged to cut her message in half, she was flustered - but she didn’t back down. She tried, and she succeeded.

By Day 3, she wasn’t filling space with extra words. She was pausing, thinking, and choosing her words carefully.

That’s what happens when people step outside their comfort zone and into intentional practice.
