Today, October 15th, we pause to honor Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month a time set aside to remember and celebrate the precious lives gone too soon.

At Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, we will join families across the world in the Wave of Light by lighting candles at 7:00 PM in memory of all babies lost before, during, and after birth. Sarah and I will personally light two candles for the little ones we lost before birth, standing in solidarity with every parent, grandparent, and family member who carries the quiet ache of loss.

May this simple light remind us that though their time was brief, their impact and love will forever remain.

We are proud to shine the spotlight on John Carroll, one of our valued Funeral Director Assistants here at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service.

John plays a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring our facilities are cared for and helping us provide the highest level of service to the families of Southeastern Illinois.

John lives in Norris City, Illinois with his wife, Amber, and their two children, Kaden and Ella. Together, they are active members of The Roads Church, where they worship and serve in many areas.

A United States Army Veteran, John has continued his dedication to service as a volunteer firefighter with the Norris City Fire Protection District. In addition, he works full-time with Smart Care, specializing in commercial kitchen maintenance.

Though John’s work is often quiet and behind the scenes, his contributions are essential to what we do each day. His dedication, service, and heart for the community truly reflect our mission of serving families with compassion, dignity, and grace.

Please join us in celebrating John and the difference he makes in our community and in our team here at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service!
