It’s time for a formal introduction! Meet Dianna, the newest physical therapist of the SMPT family! 👏🏻👏🏻

Dr. Dianna Chhay graduated from the University of California, Davis, in May 2019 with a Bachelors in Science majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior (Physiology Emphasis) and minoring in Psychology. She went on to attend the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in August 2022.

Dianna’s clinical rotations were orthopedic-based, with her last rotation being in sports medicine. She is certified in Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), which she utilized to better locate and treat soft tissue dysfunctions. During her time in the Physical Therapy field, she has developed a holistic approach when it comes to treating her patients.

Outside of work, Dianna loves to spend time with her loved ones. She enjoys cooking, trying out new restaurants, going to the gym, and trying new hobbies. Dianna has participated as a competitive powerlifter and enjoys paddeboarding, rock climbing, snowboarding, and hiking.

April is Parkinson's Awareness Month! Join us this month in spreading awareness about Parkinson's disease and supporting those affected by it.

Parkinson's disease is a chronic and progressive movement disorder that can cause tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. Although there is no cure for Parkinson's disease, there are treatments that can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life for those living with Parkinson's. By raising awareness, we can help increase understanding and support for those affected by Parkinson's, and work towards finding a cure.
