Vote for Jon Echols!
The Oklahoma Pharmacists Association (OPhA) is proud to formally
announce its endorsement of Jon Echols for Oklahoma Attorney General, citing his proven leadership and long-standing commitment to protecting patient's right to choose how they
access healthcare.
Jon Echols is running for Attorney General to ensure every Oklahoman is treated fairly under the law and his record demonstrates that commitment. As a former Majority Floor Leader of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, Echols has been a leading force in passing legislation designed to level the playing field for community pharmacies and curb abusive practices by Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and large vertically integrated corporations.
Proven Record of Leadership
• Author of the Patient’s Right to Pharmacy Choice Act (HB 2632, 2019)
• Key leader in passing HB 2677 (2021), strengthening the Pharmacy Audit
Integrity Act to ensure fair competition
• Champion of HB 1843 (2023), moving enforcement authority to the Attorney General’s Office for stronger oversight
Echols has consistently fought to ensure that local pharmacies are not disadvantaged by vertically integrated corporations that own all aspects of healthcare, from the insurance company to the provider, and that patients maintain access to the pharmacies they trust.
Endorsed by Oklahoma Pharmacy Leaders.
OPhA leaders emphasized Echols’ deep understanding of the pharmacy industry and his commitment to enforcing existing PBM laws.
"I'm proud to support Jon Echols for Attorney General of Oklahoma. During his time in the House of Representatives, he was a consistent and effective champion for pharmacy and for the patients we serve. Jon unstands the importance of enforcing Oklahoma's PBM laws (work our current Attorney General has made great progress on) and he's committed to continuing that fight to protect fair competition, patience choice and access to care across our state."
OPhA President,
Jackie Straughn

"I strongly support Jon Echols for Oklahoma’s next Attorney General. He has a proven track record of standing up to PBM's unfair practices and has been a key driver behind legislative reforms that protect pharmacies, including patient choice, network access, and anti-steering laws. He understands our industry and is committed to continuing the PBM enforcement unit."
OPhA Incoming President,
Ryan Ritter

"Having worked closely with Jon in the legislature over the years, I have seen firsthand that Jon cares about local pharmacies and the issues that matter to us. He knows the importance of our
work and keeps his word. I am proud to support him"
OPhA Executive Director,
Greg Piatt

"It is critical that our next Attorney General understands the vital services that local pharmacies provide to communities across Oklahoma. Jon Echols has a proven record fighting for us and I look forward to seeing him elected as our next AG."

A Clear Choice for Oklahoma
Oklahoma cannot afford an Attorney General that is being influenced by PBMs to ignore our laws. Voters need a leader who understands that local pharmacies serve communities first—not
corporate interests. Jon Echols stands apart as the only candidate with a demonstrated record of fighting for community pharmacies and the patients they serve.
