There is no right way to play. Play looks different for everyone. Balloon play might look like feeling them, smelling them, pulling them, blowing them up, putting them back in the bin, or tossing them into the air. No matter how someone plays, it’s meaningful, and we can model language to support it.

Some words to model in balloon play might include: GO, UP, IN, MORE, STOP, BIG, LITTLE, LIKE, HELP, MORE, MINE, BLOW, FEEL, DO, and so much more!

Remember to follow the child's lead and help bring language to life.
