Meet HPCC's March Certificant of the Month: Grace Tervin McElmury, MSN, RN, CHPPN®.

Grace shared how certification has made an impact—both personally and professionally—saying "Obtaining my CHPPN® was an amazing experience! I entered the world of pediatric palliative care with a background in pediatric oncology. I was eager to broaden my knowledge of pediatric palliative care including common diagnoses and nursing care. My journey to certification provided an opportunity to build that knowledge and succeed at my new position of PACT RN Coordinator. I am more confident in providing patient care and teaching pediatric nursing clinicals because I know I have learned the key components of pediatric palliative care. The CHPPN® title is a tangible way that I can illustrate my dedication to pediatric palliative care to my patients, students, and colleagues."

Grace is currently a Pediatric Advanced Care Team Nurse Coordinator at Advocate Children's and Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago and Olivet Nazarene University.
