What if grandma’s mint tea was actually smarter than modern medicine? 😉
Spearmint (Mentha spicata) has been used for centuries to soothe the belly, and now research is starting to catch up. Some studies suggest that a 2% oral suspension of spearmint oil supported comfort with things like bloating, C-section recovery, and even monthly cramps. Other trials looked at post-colonoscopy discomfort (yep, science studies everything 😂) and even support for those dealing with irritable bowel challenges.
Of course, more research is needed, and essential oils don’t replace medical care—but it’s pretty cool to see tradition and science lining up.
