Congratulations Marshall! We are so proud of you!

We’re excited to announce the nominees for Citizen of the Year, sponsored by the Fort Madison Daily Democrat! Nominations were accepted throughout January, and we’re honored to recognize two individuals who make Fort Madison better every day:

✨ Jordan Prado – for his dedication to helping residents and businesses through his work and volunteerism, and for his leadership in revitalizing the Fort Madison Mexican Fiesta and supporting community events.

✨ Marshall Barker – for sharing positivity and pride in Fort Madison through “Life with Marshall,” shining a light on local businesses and reminding us all of the power of kindness.

The winner will be announced at the Chamber Annual Dinner on Friday, February 27, where we’ll also recognize our Ambassador of the Year. It will be a great night with live entertainment, Cork Pull, auctions, raffle, cash bar, and a live painting by Gin Lammert!

We are proud of the staff at the Community Care Pleasant Hill

This Veterans Day, the residents at Community Care of Pleasant Hill were treated to a very special surprise, thanks to the generosity of the Iowa Community Care Foundation
The veterans were presented with a wide variety of warm shirts, coats, jeans, pajama pants, underwear, socks, slippers, shoes, ball caps, wallets, and cozy sweatshirts along with puzzles, games, checkers, and chess sets to enjoy in their rooms or share with a friend.
Three tables were filled with items, allowing the veterans to “shop” for something they liked and that fit just right. Many slipped into their new sweatshirts right away and wore them proudly for the rest of the afternoon. ❤️
A heartfelt thank you to the Iowa Community Care Foundation for brightening the day and bringing comfort and smiles to those who have served our country.

A big thank you to the Iowa Community Care Foundation (ICCF) for the wonderful new furniture and tables that arrived just in time, one week before Veterans Day!
The residents were so excited to see the new pieces coming in that several offered to help with delivery. Some couldn’t wait to try them out, even before we got the tags off! 😄
These updates have truly brightened up our shared spaces and brought a lot of smiles to the home. Check out the before-and-after photos! The smiles say it all!
We are so grateful to ICCF for their continued support and for helping make Community Care of Pleasant Hill feel even more like home. ❤️

Day hab took a trip to fort dodge Fort Frenzy today. Everyone had a BLAST!! Bumper cars were a hit!! can’t wait to go back!!!
