Earlier this week, Kuemper’s Transitional Kindergarteners delivered handwritten cards to St. Anthony! The cards were shared with our staff all across campus.

Thank you Kuemper Catholic School for the thoughtful gift. It truly brightened the staff's day. We hope you had a great Catholic Schools Week!

Winter can be beautiful, but it can also be slippery. Dr. Richard Goding, M.D., reminds us to take our time, watch for ice and use handrails whenever possible. Small precautions can help prevent serious injuries. If you experience pain or trouble moving a joint after a fall, schedule a visit so you can heal safely.

As cold and flu season ensues, it’s important to lend our immune system a preventative hand (one that’s washed, that is 😉). Here are some tips for staying healthy in these winter months:

🧼 Wash your hands. Use warm water and soap, and/or an alcohol based hand sanitizer to prevent the spread of germs.

👃 Avoid touching your face, eyes or nose.

🫧 Regularly clean high-traffic surfaces such as door k***s, countertops and handrails.

🪟 Prioritize fresh air. Going outside, opening windows when the weather permits or using an air purifier can improve shared air quality.

🫐 Focus on nutrition. Foods like warm beverages and soups, leafy greens, berries and protein can boost your immune system to better help your body fight illnesses.

🗣️ Communicate! If possible, check in with others before planned social interactions to see how they’ve been feeling lately. Make informed decisions that keep you and your loved ones healthy.

💙 Blue CHIPS recognition spotlight! 💙

Help us celebrate Robin Johnson from our Food & Nutrition department for recently being recognized by a colleague for her reliability, positive attitude and compassionate care. “If you have had the pleasure to cross paths with her, you know kindness and caring — she is a wonderful example of what St. Anthony employees should be,” her colleague shared.

We couldn’t agree more. Thank you Robin, for upholding the St. Anthony mission. We’re truly blessed to have you on our team.

Congratulations to Lori Pietig for her recent appointment to the Carroll Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors! We’re proud of her impactful contributions here at St. Anthony and know she will continue to do amazing things for our community in this role.

Meet Our New Board Members!

My name is Lori Pietig, and I am very excited to be joining the Carroll Chamber Board of Directors! Over the years, I have enjoyed working with the Chamber and am a proud graduate of the Carroll County Leadership Institute.

Through my role at St. Anthony Regional Hospital and as a lifelong Carroll resident, I have seen firsthand the positive impact the Chamber has on our community. Outside of work, my husband Cory and I stay very busy with our four children and our farming operation.

I look forward to working alongside each of you and contributing to the continued success of our community!

🚧 Construction Update at St. Anthony Regional Hospital 🚧

As part of our commitment to improving patient care and modernizing our campus, construction on projects within our Master Campus Plan will continue over the next three years. These updates are designed to make your experience better, safer, and more convenient.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 26, please note the following changes when visiting our campus:

🚨 Emergency Department Access 🚨
Emergency traffic from Clark Street will be rerouted through the lower parking area on the south side of campus, with clear signage to guide you to the Emergency Department.

🏥 Admissions Area 🏥
Part of the admissions waiting room, including restrooms, will be temporarily unavailable. Plenty of seating remains available, and the nearest restroom will be located just down the hall.

🩻 PET/CT Services 🩻
PET/CT services have moved to the Cancer Center. Please check in there when you arrive for your appointment.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance our campus for the future. 💙 For updates, follow us here or visit StAnthonyHospital.org.

Always Look to the Cross...Always St. Anthony

St. Anthony Regional Hospital is a 99-bed facility with a connected 79-bed nursing home. St. Anthony Regional Hospital & Nursing Home is proud of its rich history, which dates back to 1905 when Reverend Joseph Kuemper founded the hospital, with the help of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, from La Crosse, Wisconsin. Today, St. Anthony Regional Hospital, along with its medical staff, serves communities in West Central Iowa.

Patients at St. Anthony Regional Hospital have access to physicians in many specialties, state-of-the-art equipment, and up-to-date treatment procedures. Cost-effective care is provided in an atmosphere which reflects the institution’s Franciscan heritage and the values of the healing ministry of Christ, quality, patient/customer satisfaction, integrity, and high-performance standards. Emphasis is placed on patient services, rehabilitation, education, and wellness, recognizing an individual’s physical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs.

The hospital is a member of the American Hospital Association and the Iowa Hospitals Association and has been designated as one of sixteen regional hospitals in Iowa by the Iowa State Department of Health.
