Being sad is ok. Twilight Hospice has a chaplain and social workers 24/7 should you or a loved one need someone to talk to. ♥️

Mother's Day is only a few days away, and Father's Day isn't far behind. I find these are especially hard holidays for grievers, whether they've lost a parent, grandparent, spouse, or child. These are more than just "Hallmark" holidays. The reminders are everywhere, and many who are grieving wonder how they'll get through these tough days. Having a plan helps, even if it's just as simple as planning to be sad.

Twilight Hospice understands nothing is more important than patients with ❤️ disease and their caregivers deserve a specialized level of care.

Did you know⁉️
Triggers for Eligibility for Patients with Heart Disease may include:

❤️Ejection fraction 20% or less
❤️Decline in Karnofsky Performance Status Scale from 70% or less
❤️Body Mass Index less than 22; unintentional weight loss or gain (Weight gain could be from fluid overload, not representing nutritional status)
❤️Shortness of breath or angina at rest/minimal activity
❤️Symptoms persist even with optimal doses of diuretics, vasodilators and/or ACE inhibitors
❤️Increased frequency of ER visits or hospitalizations for symptom control

This week we celebrate National Respiratory Care Week. Did you know Twilight hospice provides clinical programs for a variety of conditions, including a respiratory conditions?

A pulmonologist or physician may recommend hospice when the time is right; however, patients and family members/caregivers must act as their own advocates to receive the care they need. You, your loved one or physician may request an evaluation to see if hospice is an appropriate option for care. Avoid delaying hospice care, as hospice services provide not only dignity but quality of life to help you with your condition.
