🧡 October is ADHD Awareness Month 🧡

Orange is the official colour for ADHD awareness. It represents energy, visibility and action. A reminder that ADHD is real, complex and deserves to be seen.

When I created The ADHD Linguist, I wanted the colours to tell a story.

💜 Purple is my professional colour as a linguist. It carries depth, creativity and credibility.
🧡 Orange reflects ADHD. The spark, the intensity, the Ferrari brain energy so many of us recognise.
🤍 White gives clarity and breathing space, which is vital for neurodivergent friendly design.

Together, these colours show what The ADHD Linguist is about. Blending professional expertise with lived experience.

And while October raises awareness, my work does not stop here. I share, teach and advocate for ADHD this month and every month, all year round.

Adults with substance-use disorder are almost four times as likely to seriously consider su***de, three times more likely to make a su***de plan, and almost four times more likely to attempt su***de.

What causes this increased risk?

- Impaired judgment and impulsivity that come with the use of many substances

- Substances are considered a lethal means of su***de, and are more likely to be used in a moment of crisis if they are accessible, leading to fatal su***de.

- Substance-use disorder is often comorbid with other mental health conditions.

There is hope. Help is possible.

If you or someone you love is struggling with a substance-use disorder, know that it doesn’t have to be the end of your story. It’s not shameful to struggle. You are not weak or broken or doomed to fail. There is hope, and it’s okay to be honest about what you’re going through.
