Let’s talk thankfulness! 🦃 🍂

At Tanner Healthcare for Children, we care about your child’s growth and development, and that includes character traits like kindness, respect and patience. As we prepare to spend time with those we love, November is the perfect time to help kids understand and practice gratitude.

Here are a few fun activities you can do with your kiddos — young and old — this holiday season:

🗒️ Thank you notes: Encourage kids to write thank you notes to teachers, family members or friends who have helped them this year.

🫙 Gratitude jar: Have your child write down one thing that they’re thankful for each day and put it in a jar. Read them together at the end of the month!

🖐️ Thankful feathers: To be creative, younger children can trace their hand and decorate it as a turkey for the festivities! While they decorate, encourage them to write something they are thankful for on each feather — then, share with family and friends.

🫂 Acts of kindness: Volunteer or do a kind deed together as a family. Helping others is a great way to show what matters most to us and a great way to appreciate what we have.

Halloween is a holiday known for dressing up and enjoying sweet treats — but staying safe is just as important! As you prepare for a night of frights and fun, we want to share some tips to keep everyone healthy and protected from more than just ghosts and ghouls!

🍭 Check all candy for signs of tampering. When in doubt, throw it out.

🚶‍➡️ When crossing any street, be sure to check both directions for traffic.

🦺 Use reflective tape, vests, flashlights or glow sticks to stay visible.

🕯️ Stick to well-lit neighborhoods. Never enter a stranger’s home.

🍏 Try non-candy treats for children with allergies or other health issues.

🧟 Handwashing may not be an option — carry sanitizer for easy use.

We're hosting a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic for those age 5 to 11 Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 2:45 to 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Tanner Health Pavilion, just across Dixie Street from Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton.

This clinic is only for children age 5 to 11.

Everyone 12 and Older Can Now

Tanner is hosting a free vaccination event on Wednesday, May 19, for all Georgia residents age 12 and older. Anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Pfizer vaccine will be given. Appointments are required.
