When I’m sick, I have exactly zero interest in running errands or making anything complicated. I want warm, soothing, and made with whatever is already in my kitchen. This is my at-home version of a Starbucks medicine ball. And don’t get me wrong — I love Starbucks. If I’m already out, I’ll absolutely order one. But if I’m holed up at home with the winter crud, this is what I’m making. I actually keep a few kitchen staples specifically for sick days, because future-me is never going to the store when she doesn’t feel well. I start with 1 tea bag each of peppermint + chamomile and let them steep for about 3–5 minutes. Then I add lemon — sometimes it’s fresh, but I always have crystallized lemon juice on hand for this exact reason. Same idea with the peach: sometimes I have real peach nectar, but most of the time it’s peach-mango electrolyte powder, because it keeps forever and works just as well. I finish it with honey to taste. It’s nothing fancy and it’s not a cure. It’s just warm, comforting, and easy — which is exactly what sick days call for. Save this for the next time you’re under the weather 🤍
