Through our partnership with Hot Air for Hope - Carson Valley Balloon Festival, we’re bringing hands-on learning, meaningful connection, and conversations around resilience directly into our schools across Carson City, Douglas County, and Lyon County.

Six months in at Carson Tahoe Health, our new nurse graduates have already grown through hands-on care, meaningful moments, and continued learning. The first year is often the most challenging, and they are right in the middle of it — showing up, supporting one another, and continuing their education every step of the way.

Karen Fisicaro, Registered Dietitian at our Cancer Center, recently renewed her 5-year specialty certification in oncology nutrition, continuing her commitment to providing the highest level of care for our patients. Beyond her work at Carson Tahoe, Karen also contributes her expertise to the Nevada Cancer Coalition, helping shape the 2026–2030 statewide cancer plan.

This is what it means to go above and beyond. Not just caring for patients, but helping improve care for our entire community. Thank you, Karen, for the compassion, dedication, and impact you bring every day.
