Good morning friends, family and patients.
As many of you know, I have spent the entire month of August in and out of the hospital battling the Corona virus and it’s effects .
After a week of 106 degree fever and trying to fight this on my own , I ended up in the ER with an Oxygen saturation of 70 due to severe bilateral pneumonia. Needless to say , I followed the medical protocol . Invermectin, remdesivir , countless IV antibiotics and steroids . I seemed to be on the mend until this virus continued its attack on my body .
10 days after the onset I woke with severs crushing chest pain and an inability to breathe , like a good Chiropractor , I went to my office to X-ray my lungs and self diagnosed. The results were bad and I was off to the ER.
I was in big trouble and was handled appropriately by the ER staff. It was a blur of activity, scans and more drugs . I was suffering from large bilateral pulmonary embolisms .
This virus is serious and certainly isn’t a flu !

Let me first state, I don’t believe anyone has he right to tell you how to live your life or what to put in your body! That freedoms must be maintained at all cost !
Having said that, I now have to deal with the side effects of invermectin ,remdesavir , numerous antibiotics , super high doses of very strong steroids ( dexamamethasone ) and at least six months of high dose blood thinners . There is a cost to all that too ! Would the shot have been better , in hindsight , I think so.
I hope and pray that my lungs heal . I can currently walk about 100 feet until I need oxygen.
I am still able to see hundreds of patients a week; I just need a little help from my O2 tank to get it done !
I know this won’t set well with some of my colleagues , but this is my truth and I have an obligation to share.
This has been the most humbling , scary experience of my life, and I have has a few !
Lastly , I want to thank those closest to me , my Mom Bonnie Pastro, my staff Judi Petersen, and mostly my girlfriend Tiffany Harvey for helping ,me through this most trying time ! I love you all !
