This week, we’re highlighting a powerful community partner that helps support many of the same families we serve — CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Carson City.

CASA volunteers advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect, ensuring their needs and voices are heard throughout the court and foster care process. Their work provides stability, guidance, and compassionate support during some of the most challenging moments a child can face. 💙

Why this resource matters for our Respite families:
Many children who benefit from respite also navigate complex systems — whether it's developmental services, medical needs, or family transitions. CASA’s advocacy can help ensure that these children receive the services, protections, and support they deserve, while our respite program offers essential relief and care for families.
Together, organizations like CASA and EVCH Respite create a stronger, more supportive community for children with unique needs.

💬 A Father’s Story:
"As a single father who works full-time, my free time is extremely limited but very valuable. Unfortunately, I can’t trust just any random person to watch my special-needs son. The EVCH respite program has truly been a game changer for me!
Getting some time to myself to go mountain biking, run errands, or go out on a date has been extremely beneficial to my mental health.
The staff at Eagle Valley are amazing and my kiddo always looks forward to the respite sessions. I can't say enough good things about this program and all the amazing respite workers who have substantially improved my quality of life!

Today, we’re excited to share a resource that many families don’t even know exists:

Family TIES is a free statewide nonprofit that supports families of children with disabilities, chronic health conditions, or special healthcare needs.
They specialize in helping families understand the systems that often feel confusing, intimidating, or overwhelming.

✔ One-on-one support for navigating Medicaid, SSI, and insurance
✔ Assistance understanding disability benefits & coverage

Today I celebrated 🥳30 years at Eagle Valley Children’s Home. I know you’re thinking “Did she start when she was 2?”😂 When I look back, my heart 💜is full of memories—moments shared with amazing individuals who have touched my life in ways words can hardly express. Some are still with us, and some have moved on, but each left a lasting imprint on my heart. They inspire the work that is done each day

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside others who inspire me every day and whose dedication 💃and compassion make this place so special. Through this work, I’ve met some of the best people I could ever hope to know. How lucky was I to find something I loved ♥️ so early in life?

This journey hasn’t just been about the work—it’s been about the support and guidance I’ve received from mentors & managers over the years. Their encouragement has meant the world 🌏to me and helped shape the person I am today.
Thirty years of laughter, challenges, growth, and love—it truly has been an adventure.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. I am so blessed and grateful to be part of EVCH♥️♥️♥️
