I love this, putting it all together!
When you have been on a health journey for a while, you soon realise that all roads lead back to inflammation.
Recently I posted about depression, and how what was once thought of as a disease of the mind, science is now showing has roots in the immune system... because an immune response leads to inflammation.
When we are talking about healing the gut, reducing lifestyle stress, reducing toxins, even dealing with negative past emotions... we are still talking about inflammation.
Inflammation has many causes, and it is the underlying cause in every disease. Many causes of inflammation means there are many ways we can reduce it, and I like to break these into three categories of stress- psychological stress, physical stress and environmental stress. Psychological stress is the worrying, overthinking, always busy, past emotions, trauma, negative self talk, and not allowing your brain to switch off.
Physical stress is over exertion, rushing around all the time, not getting enough sleep, feeding your body inflammatory foods, sitting in a chair all day, injury.
Environmental stress is toxins in the environment such as chemicals in cleaning and self care products, EMF’s, fumes, mould, metals, and an unhealthy diet.
As you can see, food is only part of the picture, and when approaching health, we aim to reduce inflammation. To reduce inflammation, we need to work from all angles, and not let one approach load the stress on in other areas.
This is the underpinning philosophy of The Gut Health Formula, an 8 week program that and I have put together. Our next round is starting on the 7th of this month!
