🤎 What fills your cup? 🤎

Meet Abbey, a LADC and CPC-I clinician at Vitality’s Carson City CCBHC.

What fills her cup that helps her show up for the people we serve at Vitality?

“I love talking to and helping people. I always have. I could not imagine a more enjoyable job than what I currently am doing. That added in with my background with addiction and recovery and mental health make Vitality truly a passion for me, along with my place of work. I am very grateful and blessed to be here working with and helping and talking to people all day, every day! I also LOVE teaching groups, that is one of my most favorite parts of my job!”

✨ Helping others thrive that’s what fills Abbey’s cup.

🤎 What fills your cup? 🤎

Meet Bailey, an LCSW and Clinical Supervisor at Vitality Unlimited’s Carson City CCBHC. She has been with Vitality for 4.5 years and started right after graduating from grad school in 2022.

What keeps Bailey at Vitality is the heart of the work:

“My favorite part is that we help anybody. It’s not just for people who can afford therapy. If someone needs care, we see them.”

Bailey also loves the variety her role brings. On any given day, she might work with a five-year-old, a teenager, an adult navigating substance use, or an older adult in their 80s.

So, what fills Bailey’s cup outside of work? 🧶Crocheting. Bailey crochets every night, participates in craft fairs, and hosts a monthly Zoom hangout with fellow crocheters.

“It quiets my mind. I need to be doing something with my hands.”

That mindfulness carries into her work with clients, where she teaches skills focused on staying present and grounded. By making time to crochet each evening, Bailey stays centered and helps others find their own sense of calm and balance.

👉 Swipe to see some of Bailey’s beautiful handmade creations and a glimpse into what helps keep her grounded.

✨ Because caring for others starts with knowing what fills your cup.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we wanted to share a little heart that holds a lot of meaning. 💙

This piece was created by one of our youth clients with the support of a Vitality Unlimited Targeted Case Manager. Using string, glue, patience, and creativity, they built this heart layer by layer — then added lights and decorations to make it shine.

At Vitality Unlimited, care goes beyond clinical services. What drives our work is thought, compassion, creativity, and love when treating any of our clients that walk through our door. Healing can look many different ways, and sometimes it looks like helping a child express themselves in a way that feels safe, empowering, and joyful.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re reminded that love shows up in the care we give, the connections we build, and the spaces we create for healing. ✨

We particularly loved the moment when the child shared their creation with our Program Director, Heather — a beautiful reminder of how encouragement and connection help young people feel seen and supported.

💙 What fills your cup? 💙

Meet Robert, a board certified behavior analyst and certified alcohol and drug counselor intern at Vitality Unlimited. Robert supports clients on their recovery journeys using a compassionate, skills-based approach. In his work, he helps with substance use counseling, goal setting, and building practical coping and relapse-prevention skills, all while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.

With a background in Applied Behavior Analysis, Robert thoughtfully incorporates strategies like habit-building, replacement behaviors, self-monitoring, and structured goal tracking to support meaningful, sustainable change.

So, what fills Robert’s cup outside of work? ☕
Staying active, teaching, reading, gaming, watching anime, and spending time with family and friends. He’s been married for nearly 20 years, is a proud parent of three (with one heading off to college this summer!), and shares his home with a very full animal crew — including chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, lizards, fish, rats, and chinchillas.

Robert also gives back to his community as the Secretary of the Dayton High School Booster Club, volunteering his time to help fund special activities for local students.

✨ Caring for others starts with doing what fills your cup and Robert brings that balance into everything he does at Vitality.

To kick off the New Year, we’re asking Vitality Unlimited’s therapists and counselors:
What are your hopes and intentions for 2026? ✨

Meet Carly, who just celebrated her one-year anniversary at Vitality Unlimited as an LMSW, CSW-I. Carly primarily works with children, LGBTQIA+ clients, and individuals navigating PTSD and other trauma-related diagnoses.

She currently facilitates an Early Recovery Trauma Group at Battle Born, a comprehensive sober living program operated by Charities of Northern Nevada & St. Vincent Programs and a valued partner of Vitality Unlimited.

Carly’s intention for 2026?

“Therapy can be a vulnerable and sometimes uncomfortable process. My goal is to help people feel seen, respected, and supported as they do the hard work of healing. I want Vitality to feel like a space where you can show up exactly as you are.”

Fun fact about Carly: She has a “devil cat” named Peach — adorable on the outside, but she swears there’s pure chaos behind those eyes. 😼

👉 Check the comments to see Peach looking deceptively sweet… and then very much living up to her reputation.

If you or someone you love needs mental health support, we’re here to help. 💙

It was a pleasure meeting with Jennifer, program director at STEP2, and Dustin, their assessments & admissions manager, to learn more about how our organizations can partner to better support the people we serve.

Mental health and recovery look different for everyone- they’re complex, layered, and deeply personal. The more we collaborate and communicate across organizations, the better we can support individuals navigating substance use and mental health challenges.

The Step2 campus is truly inspiring, offering women a second chance through a holistic, compassionate approach to recovery.

Vitality Unlimited looks forward to a strong and lasting partnership with Step2 as we work together to create brighter, healthier futures. 💙

To kick off the New Year, we’re asking Vitality Unlimited’s therapists and counselors: What are your hopes for 2026? ✨

Nina’s goal for 2026? To dive deeper into her “healthiest coping skill” -sourdough. 🍞

Yes, you read that right. Nina is a talented baker, especially when it comes to sourdough. As she puts it:

“It gets my mind off of things- it’s tactile, calming, and satisfying to watch something from start to finish.”

Along with baking, Nina is also RISING toward a big professional milestone (see what we did there 😉). She’s more than halfway to completing her licensure, with 900 of the 1,500 hours needed to become a fully licensed CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).

👉 Check out the comments to see a pic of her sourdough starter, lovingly fed 3–4 times a week and named “Dough Rogan” and one of her finished creations: a pumpkin-cinnamon inclusive sourdough loaf. Yum!

If you’re seeking mental health or substance use disorder treatment and would like to work with Nina or one of our amazing therapists, give us a call at one of our four certified community behavioral health clinics (CCBHCs). 💙
