Family Wellness Center, LLC Carson City, NV

Family Wellness Center, LLC Carson City, NV A specialized health care agency that focuses on lifelong wellness for its employees and clients. Currently offering mental health services only.

Family Wellness Center is established to enable Kristopher and Dawn to create a specialized type of health care agency that focuses on promoting lifelong wellness for its employees and clients. Kristopher’s focus is on the wellness of the family, helping families to engage one another in respectful and meaningful relationships which have as essential elements: healthy boundaries, open and honest communication, respect for self and others, a willingness to engage in personal and professional growth, acceptance of personal responsibility, mental, emotional and physical health, and a willingness to acknowledge personal or family issues and take the actions necessary to heal them without undue delay. Dawn recognizes the struggle that women, girls, and some men and boys experience as they try to become comfortable with their self-image, their relationships with food and body size, and the messages they get from others and from society at large. She also recognizes the difficulties associated with making life changes related to medical and health conditions. Dawn seeks to support, educate, and assist others as they work through the core issues that stand in the way of real and lasting change, the type of change that will improve each person’s health, happiness, and quality of life. Our vision is to develop an agency that offers a holistic integration of mental, emotional, and physical wellness services for children, teens and adults. In furtherance of Kristopher and Dawn’s concept, additional providers and services may be added to Family Wellness Center, LLC which promote individual and / or family wellness in cooperation and integration with existing services.

We have a very strong tendency to view joy as something that either happens to us by chance in lucky moments or as something that we have to deserve, that we get as the fruit, the reward, of good behavior or skillful cultivation. We can reframe that to think of joy as something we can offer as a gift to the world, offer as a gift through our lives.

See Rightly
by Nick LeForce
March 14, 2017

I look into the mirror,
not at the face
I have grown
accustomed to see,
but at the face
I may never see again
and ask myself:
“Is this the memory I want
to share with the world?”

This is not a question
of smooth skin and youthful looks.
It is a question of how much
of my soul shines through
the face I’ve hung out to the world.

Those who see me rightly
will not care about my wrinkles
or the ravages of time.
They will not be concerned
by the troubles I’ve endured
or the triumphs I’ve enjoyed.

They will see through the mask
to the spirit that has moved
in this body and through this life.

This I promise:
I will train my eyes to see rightly.

I will hold you, as I hold myself,
in this mirror, accountable only
to the inner landscape, cultivated
and carved, not by the weathering
of the world, but by the way
you have or have not
loved your self.

It is projected that up to 152 million people worldwide will be living with Alzheimer's disease (AD) by 2050. To date there are no drugs that have a substantial positive impact on either the prevention or reversal of cognitive decline. A growing body of evidence finds that targeting lifestyle and vascular risk factors have a beneficial effect on overall cognitive performance. A new review examines research that finds spiritual fitness, a new concept in medicine that centers on psychological and spiritual wellbeing, and Kirtan Kriya, a simple 12-minute meditative practice, may reduce multiple risk factors for AD.
