You may be wondering what this is and why we use it in the spa! 🤔
Bio spicules are microscopic, needle-like structures made from marine sponges that are used in advanced skincare treatments.
They are essentially tiny mineral-based spines (mostly composed of silica and calcium compounds) that can penetrate the skin’s surface without using needles or machines.
How They Work 🌟
• When applied in a facial or peel, the spicules create micro-channels in the skin.
• This stimulates the skin’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production.
• The spicules also help deliver active ingredients deeper into the skin, improving absorption.

Key Difference From Microneedling
Unlike microneedling (which uses a device with metal needles), bio spicules are natural micro-needles that dissolve within the skin over time. Clients usually feel a tingling or prickly sensation for 24–72 hours as the spicules remain active before being absorbed or shed.
Live out of town and can’t make in to the spa? No worries, I retail a home version that is fantastic and can be used in between your regular micro needling treatments or a couple times a week instead of!
