Yoga at the Lake: An Evening of Wellness and Connection

The SIH Foundation, with the SIH Cancer Institute, welcomed community members for a serene and energizing “Yoga at the Lake” experience. Led by the inspiring instructor Joan Sherwood, attendees stretched and breathed in the peaceful lakeside atmosphere, embracing movement and mindfulness.

Our SIH Wellness team also joined the event, sharing practical nutrition tips and wellness insights to support healthy living, both body and soul.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate health, healing and community. We are grateful for your presence and look forward to more moments like this.

Thank You, Southern Illinois!

Nearly $39,000 will directly support local cancer patients and their families thanks to the generosity of donors from our region and beyond. This year’s Blackout Cancer football game at Saluki Stadium was a tremendous success.

The Salukis took the field in special jerseys honoring loved ones affected by cancer, and, new this year, Coach Nick Hill’s game-worn hat was auctioned to support the cause. During halftime, we recognized the SIH Cancer Institute’s decade of service and its impact on cancer care throughout the region.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the jersey auction. If you missed your chance, the SIU Saluki Basketball Blackout Cancer games are coming up soon, another opportunity to make a difference close to home.

Come see these jerseys in action tomorrow. Game time is now noon!

Game Day is Almost Here!

Join us for the Salukis Blackout Cancer Game on Saturday, October 18 at 12 p.m. at Saluki Stadium as the Salukis take on North Dakota!

Don't let the rain stop you from cheering on the Salukis as they take the field in their Blackout Cancer jerseys, worn in honor of local fighters and survivors—thanks to your support during the jersey auction.

Let’s pack the stands and show what Southern Illinois is made of.

Every pink ribbon carries a story of courage, compassion and hope. This month, we wear pink to honor survivors, remember loved ones and stand with everyone impacted by breast cancer.

Early detection saves lives. A simple screening can make all the difference. If you’re due for your mammogram, take this as your reminder to schedule it today.

Share why you wear pink in the comments and help us spread awareness, encourage screenings and show that no one fights alone. Together, we can make a difference. 🎀

October has arrived, which means it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

SIH is proud to stand with survivors, fighters, families, caregivers and friends as we kick off a month of education, support and hope. We're in this together.

Our team began the month on a powerful note during a press event Wednesday morning.

"Getting a mammogram once a year can save your life. We are in the business of helping people celebrate more birthdays, and that's easier to do if we diagnose early." - Emily Zurliene, PA at the SIH Breast Center.

Let's make a difference one screening, one reminder, one show of support at a time.
