Fentanyl ranks #1 on the list of biggest killers of 18-to-45-year-olds in
the United States. It’s not just adults, it’s killing kids, too. Kids as young
as 12 are being poisoned.

Experimentation is not safe when just one pill can kill. The fact is, most
people don't know the dangers and how bad it actually is. You can
change that by helping spread awareness today for National Fentanyl
Awareness Day.

Underage drinking is not a harmless “rite of passage.” Alcohol can affect brain development, increase the risk of accidents, poor decision-making, and lead to long-term substance use issues.

Youth: You don’t have to drink to fit in or have fun. Make safe choices, look out for your friends, and remember that your future is worth more than one bad decision.

Parents and community members — let’s continue to talk with our youth and set clear expectations. Prevention starts with all of us.

Parents, here’s a simple way to help spot the difference between ni****ne vapes and THC vapes, just by looking.

Ni****ne vapes (like disposables or pod devices) are usually sealed, solid devices. You typically can’t see inside them. They often look like small rectangles or pens and come in bright flavors or branded packaging.
THC vapes more often come as a two-part system: a small battery with a clear cartridge attached. Inside that cartridge you may be able to see a thick, slow-moving oil that is usually gold, amber, or dark yellow.

A simple rule of thumb:
No visible liquid = usually ni****ne
Clear cartridge with thick oil = likely THC

Important note: newer devices are designed to look very similar, so appearance isn’t always foolproof, but this is a helpful first check.

Stay informed, stay aware, and keep the conversation open with your kids. Call us for more information: 615-588-1622
