Doing this for just 30 seconds can make a big difference in how your child’s body and brain work together.

Core strength is an important part of primitive reflex integration. When the core is weak, kids often have a harder time sitting upright, staying still, and maintaining focus throughout the day.

You might notice things like slouching, constant movement, poor balance, or difficulty staying seated for longer periods of time.

Assisted sit-ups help by building the strength and stability kids need to feel more grounded in their bodies. That stability helps calm the nervous system and makes it easier for the brain to focus and stay organized.

Simple movements like this can go a long way in supporting regulation, posture, and readiness for learning.

This is what community looks like to me showing up consistently, building trust, and meeting kids exactly where they are. 💛 Every child deserves a plan that fits them, and it’s an honor to be part of that process.

If you know a family who could use guidance, clarity, or hope, let them know we offer comprehensive brain and body assessments.

The right games stimulate specific parts of the brain. Some build regulation and body awareness. Others sharpen focus, timing, and coordination. When play crosses the midline or challenges movement, it helps both sides of the brain work together.

That’s why at NeuroFiT Connections, we use movement and play to create real neurological change. This isn’t recess, it’s recalibration.

The brain learns best when it’s engaged, challenged, and having fun.

What does a mirror tell us about a child’s brain? More than you might think. 🧠

This type of activity helps us observe body awareness, self-monitoring, and sensory integration all skills that depend on early brain development and primitive reflex integration.

When primitive reflexes don’t fully integrate, kids may struggle to:
• Feel where their body is in space
• Coordinate movements smoothly
• Regulate emotions and impulses
• Stay focused during everyday tasks

Using a mirror adds an extra layer. The brain has to process visual feedback, body position, and movement at the same time. For some kids, that’s surprisingly hard and it gives us important clues about how well the brain is organizing information.

If you’ve ever thought,
“Why does my child seem unaware of their body or emotions?”
“There has to be something deeper going on…”

There might be.

What if your child doesn’t actually have ADHD… even if they were diagnosed with it? 🤯

So many parents come to us feeling confused, frustrated, and unsure.

But when we test their child, we often find something different: a functional disconnection, where one side of the brain is overactive and the other is underdeveloped.

And here’s the twist…
That imbalance can create every classic ADHD symptom.
But the root cause isn’t ADHD, it’s a brain that’s out of sync.

We don’t just manage symptoms.

We strengthen the weaker hemisphere, integrate primitive reflexes, and reconnect the brain so kids can focus, regulate, and thrive 💙

Most kids don’t need more meds…
They need connection, stimulation, and integration.

Is one side of your child’s brain overpowering the other? 🧠⚡
When the left and right sides grow at different speeds, the whole system falls out of sync.

This is called functional disconnection and it’s one of the biggest hidden causes behind:

🔥 Meltdowns
📚 Learning struggles
💔 Emotional outbursts
⚡ Trouble focusing

It’s not that your child won’t behave…
Their brain literally can’t work the way it’s supposed to when one side is overworking and the other is underdeveloped.

At NeuroFiT Connections, we identify the weaker hemisphere and stimulate it back into balance, syncing the brain so kids can finally regulate, learn, and thrive.

We’re not “fixing” the child.
We’re balancing the brain.
And when the brain is balanced?
✨ Everything changes.

Doing this every morning helps organize your child’s brain before the day even begins.

This movement helps integrate primitive reflexes, especially the Asymmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex (ATNR). This reflex had an important job when your child was a baby, helping them learn to crawl.

Signs of a retained ATNR can include poor handwriting, difficulty crossing the midline, clumsiness, trouble sitting still, or challenges with focus and learning.

Repeating this daily builds stronger neurological pathways and helps the nervous system feel more regulated and ready to learn.

One of my favorite parts of the day is getting to spend time with these kids not just working their program, but laughing, encouraging, and watching them grow into themselves. 💛 Every child brings something special into this space, and I feel so grateful to be part of their journey.

If bedtime is a nightly battle, it may not be your routine, it may be your child’s brain.

Kids with brain imbalances often struggle to regulate their internal clock.

When the part of the brain responsible for calm, rhythm, and regulation is underactive, falling asleep and staying asleep can feel impossible.

Screens and sugar late in the day only add more stress to an already dysregulated system.

At NeuroFiT Connections, we focus on strengthening the part of the brain that supports sleep naturally.

When the brain comes into balance, restful sleep follows.

Could primitive reflexes still be affecting your child? 🧠

These early reflexes are meant to fade in infancy but when they don’t, they can quietly impact focus, coordination, learning, and emotional regulation.

Here are 5 common signs primitive reflexes may not have fully integrated:

• Difficulty sitting still or staying focused
• Poor balance or frequent clumsiness
• Slouched posture or tiring quickly at a desk
• Struggles with reading, writing, or tracking across a page
• Big emotional reactions or sensory sensitivity

Here’s what many parents don’t realize 👇
These challenges are often neurological, not behavioral.

When the brain is still relying on early movement patterns, kids have to work much harder just to do everyday tasks and it shows up as frustration, avoidance, or overwhelm.

That’s why brain-based development looks at how the body moves, not just how a child behaves or performs in school.

If you’ve ever wondered,
“Why is this so hard for my child?”
“There has to be something deeper going on…”

There might be.

This exercise helps by teaching the brain how to separate and coordinate the upper and lower body again. That improves posture, eye tracking, hand-eye coordination, and focus.

This reflex had an important job when your child was a baby. The STNR helps infants move from tummy time into a hands-and-knees position so they can learn to crawl.

If it doesn’t fully integrate, it can interfere with coordination and focus later on. You might notice slouching when seated, trouble copying from a board, clumsiness, difficulty shifting their eyes from near to far, or a child who struggled with crawling early on.

What you want to see and work toward during this movement is a steady, straight back, straight arms, and no sitting back toward the heels as the head moves, no bending the elbows as the head moves down.

If the STNR reflex is still active, you’ll often see a child bend their elbows when they tuck their head down, or shift their hips or sit back toward their heels when they lift their head.
