A simple walk can do more than you think.

Movement is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen the mind. Research shows that aerobic exercise can help slow and even reverse aspects of brain aging by supporting brain plasticity and strengthening the hippocampus, the part of the brain responsible for memory.

At Enfermera, our specialized caregivers incorporate safe movement and daily wellness activities into compassionate memory care, helping your loved ones stay active, engaged, and supported.

Love often makes us want to solve everything, but in Memory Care, true help means fostering autonomy.

Enfermera invites you to change your perspective: don't do things for them, do them with them. Participating in everyday tasks strengthens "cognitive reserve".

Participation preserves dignity in memory care.

Contact us today at (847) 213-5426 or visit enfermera.care. The brain requires a massive amount of oxygen to function. When we protect our loved ones' cardiovascular systems and manage their emotional stress, we are literally "insuring" their cognitive future.

At Enfermera.care, we don't just watch the numbers; we watch over the person. Whether it's accompanying them to the doctor or managing a complex care plan, we ensure their heart stays strong so their mind stays sharp.

You don’t need to be a gourmet chef to protect your loved one’s brain. At Enfermera, we believe that small, consistent changes in the kitchen can make a meaningful difference in cognitive health and overall well-being.

Our recommendations are inspired by the MIND Diet, a nutritional approach highlighted in a landmark 2015 study showing that even being mostly consistent with brain-healthy foods can significantly support memory and help reduce cognitive decline.

Simple choices today can help protect the mind tomorrow. With the right support, healthy routines at home can make a lasting difference for the people you love.

🧠 Big Alzheimer’s news. After a decade of work, researchers led by Bruce Yankner at Harvard have uncovered a potential new clue in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Their study shows that lithium — a natural element in the brain — may play a key role in preventing or even reversing Alzheimer’s-like changes by keeping brain cells healthy and avoiding memory loss in animal models. The research suggests that when amyloid plaques build up in the brain, they bind to and reduce lithium levels — and a special form of lithium might help protect against this. While it’s promising, clinical trials are still needed to see if it works safely in people. - https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2026/01/an-alzheimers-breakthrough-10-years-in-the-making/

📣 A growing number of U.S. employers are stepping up to support workers who are also family caregivers. With over 63 million Americans providing care for aging relatives while holding down jobs, companies are expanding benefits like paid caregiving leave, flexible schedules, and help finding caregiving resources — moving beyond just vacation days to real support. This shift comes as lawmakers and states push for better paid leave laws, and employers look for ways to retain valuable employees juggling work and caregiving responsibilities. - https://www.businessreport.com/newsletters/more-us-companies-are-offering-caregiving-benefits-to-employees
