If you’re unsure whether your current protocol is extending or shortening your handpiece lifespan, we’re happy to help.
Here’s our recommended 6-step maintenance process:
1️⃣ Remove the bur to allow the inside of the chuck to be lubricated. This also expels debris and helps prevent future bur slippage.
2️⃣ Wipe the exterior of the handpiece to remove debris.
3️⃣ Lubricate the handpiece from the base, then wipe excess lubricant from the exterior.
4️⃣ Insert a bur, connect to a hose, and run for 30 seconds to expel excess lubricant.
5️⃣ Bag and autoclave the handpiece.
6️⃣ After sterilization, allow the handpiece to cool for 60 minutes before use.
