Birth mantras will not take you very far if you are also not focussing on ongoing mindset shifts during pregnancy.
Pregnancy is a beautiful miracle and we are very privileged to be able to birth a human being into this world. But at the same time , it's hard, it's extremely hard!
Its so easy to dwell on discomforts we are feeling especially when they pop up day after day. You are deep down in pain , overwhelm, anxiety and find yourself in a constant survival mode and it's easy to fall into the victim mentality.

Small , trust me very small mindset changes during my pregnancy this time( 2nd pregnancy with a toddler in tow) has helped me manage my physical and emotional state.

It's as simple as stopping yourself when a negative thought arises or you find yourself going into patterns that dont serve you, just STOP yourself and "FLIP THE SCRIPT" .
It's incredibly powerful.
My challenge to you today is to put a positive spin on your struggle today and see how your mind , body and thus your circumstances respond to that shift.

No! You dont need to start lifting weights and running on day 5 postpartum. That is a secondary task and needs professional evaluation and guidance.
So What can you do?
As soon as you are feeling upto it and are settled in with the new baby at home, it is ok to start doing >Gentle breathing exercises.
>Diaphragmatic breathing and activation.
>Connecting with your core and pelvic floor.
>Small walks around the block.

Waiting 6-12 weeks to start doing exercises is a multi layered advice and has been used as a blanket statement for everyone. Let's be real , unless there is a grave problem, you are not waiting 6 weeks to lift your newborn , to bend over into the bassinet to place and lift the baby , to lift the car seat, to walk in and around your home. Daily life activities do not wait.
Simply giving it a rest is counterintuitive. Ample resting combined with 15 minutes of intentional movement and breathing based exercises gives you the best chance at success.
Moreover, having some routine that involves physical activity and doing something for yourself has shown to reduce rates of postpartum mental health issues.

ASK QUESTIONS to your healthcare provider.
NO Question is a silly Question.
Put yourself first in the medical healthcare system.
Ask to be sent to OR go to a pelvic floor specialist after birth. (A minor knee surgery gets at least 6 weeks of physio rehab, you had your whole body wrecked to birth your baby)

Mamas there’s no reason you should keep playing safe and sit on the sidelines coz of fear.
It’s been years that you have given birth or it has been months, whichever stage you are in and still experiencing the ab separation, the mommy’s pooch or doming. Just know that you’re not alone. More women have experienced this than you can imagine. 68% of postpartum women experience Diastasis of re**us abdominus(DRA). Ignoring the DRA simply worsens it and can lead to instability in your core which can lead to back, hip and pelvic floor problems.
