Never let anyone other than a licensed Acupuncturist treat you with acupuncture needles. “Dry needling” needles are acupuncture needles. In North Carolina, physical therapists can undergo a 3 day weekend class before they start practicing dry needling on unsuspecting patients. It wasn’t until the 4th year of Chinese medicine school that my colleagues I were allowed to practice on paying patients.
