This runner just finished a marathon PR and is already preparing for her next training block.

What happens after race day is just as important as the training that led up to it. Proper recovery, movement assessment, and a plan for the next cycle are what help runners continue to improve and stay healthy.

Trail runner and obstacle course racer receiving static dry needling as part of her treatment plan.

For OCR athletes, the upper body plays a huge role — climbing, pulling, and grip all place high demands on the shoulders and scapular muscles.

At TheRunningPTs, we utilize tools like dry needling to help reduce muscle tightness, improve movement, and support both recovery and performance.

If you’re training for trail races or obstacle course events, having a plan for both performance and recovery matters.

If you’re a runner dealing with pain on the outside of your knee, there’s a good chance you’ve been told to stretch your IT band.

Here’s the problem… it doesn’t actually fix it.

The IT band isn’t a muscle you can effectively stretch.
So even if it feels better temporarily, the pain usually comes right back.

Most of the time, the real issue is coming from your hip and how you’re controlling load when you run.

That’s why it keeps showing up.

Fix the cause, not just the symptoms.

Save this or send it to a runner who needs it.
