🔥Today let’s focus on fire safety in our homes🔥

To ensure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are in working order, follow these maintenance guidelines:
Test Monthly: Press and hold the "Test" button on all your smoke and CO detectors at least once a month to confirm the alarm sounds.
Replace Batteries Annually: For standard battery-operated units or the backup in hardwired systems, replace the batteries at least once a year. Replace the Entire Unit

If you use a wood stove or fireplace in your home:
🔥Have your chimney inspected and cleaned each year by a professional.
🔥Put ashes in a metal container with a lid. Place the container outside at least 10 feet from your home

Fire Extinguisher: Keep a fire extinguisher handy and consider purchasing a fire blanket to keep in your home.

Escape Plan: Have a family fire escape plan with meeting spots and backup routes.

We want to make sure you’re all safe and warm this winter.

CMC is the 2025 Idaho Rural Health Innovator of the Year! Thanks to County Commissioner Sherry Maupin for nominating us. We were recognized for use of InstyMeds (Rx vending machine) in our Donnelly Urgent Care clinic, operating a free patient transportation service, addressing resiliency through play therapy for children, and our new designation as a Rural Emergency Hospital. I'm so proud of our amazing team for their determination and creativity, and for proving that small hospitals can do great things!
