We are thankful for Ava Thibodeau, “2026 Western Maine Women of Service Young Teen.” Ava personally made and shared Christmas cards with all of the CVAL residents and spread Christmas cheer throughout our home! We topped off the afternoon with a Christmas special performance by Michael Schools.

We're holding a food drive starting today through the month of November to support our community food pantry at the Casco Village Church United Church of Christ. Food is close to our heart and if you are visiting our home in November, please consider donating non-perishable items. We have collection boxes by the time clock (near kitchen), and in our med room. Let's pack the pantry!

Those that follow us may remember that last year we made a post about expanding Country Village. The project was ultimately put on hold due to instability with Medicaid funding in Maine at that time, however the funding has continued without interruption and we feel comfortable with moving forward. Now that we are about to begin the process for Town approval, we wanted to publicly announce our plans.

Country Village Assisted Living is applying for contract zoning in the Town of Casco in order to meet the needs of our community, with plans to grow our home from 30 to 45 bedrooms. Our two-story addition will match the existing building’s village charm, with upgraded septic, water, and parking to meet Town and DEP standards. Included in our addition plans is a re-design of our parking lot and landscaping that will create multiple new outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy and enhance the beauty of our space and sight lines to and from the Casco Day Park. Native landscaping will preserve Casco’s rural beauty.

This project supports our Town’s Comprehensive Plan by enhancing local healthcare, creating jobs, and promoting sustainable growth. The need for senior care beds is now and we look forward to investing in our community with the addition of beds that are local and close to home for many. The additional capacity would allow us to continue updating and improving our current facility as well.

As we begin the public conversation around our addition this month, we look forward to your support as we embark on this endeavor!

Celebrating 25 Years of Loyalty to CVAL at our annual Fall Fest. Biny and Amy were celebrated alongside family, staff, residents, kids, pigs, chickens, ducks and lots of great food. All had a great time. Thanks to our volunteers & everyone that contribute to make it happen, and Biny & Amy for the loving care they’ve provided for 25 years and counting!

We were given a sneak peak of the ferris wheel and carousel rides at CASCO DAYS.. What a special moment for so many of our residents. Thank you to the volunteers at Casco Days and our staff who helped us make this happen.
