As we end Lung Cancer Awareness Month, we want to emphasize the importance of screenings for early detection. A low-dose CT scan takes 10-15 minutes and requires no needles or prep. Patients who qualify for a low-dose CT scan for lung cancer include:

🫁 Those 50 to 80 years old
🫁 Those who currently smoke or have quit in the last 15 years
🫁 Those who smoke a minimum of 20 packs per year

What is breast density? Each woman has a certain degree of breast density, ranging from all fatty tissue to extremely dense tissue. All types of breast densities are common, but certain densities make it more difficult to detect breast abnormalities. Meet our Credentialing Specialist and Biller, Dana Hamre!

Dana has been with CMI & OPR for three years, helping to process patient claims and ensuring that physicians are credentialed at all facilities we read for, as well as keeping their licenses up to date. Dana says, "I love helping patients make sure their claims are processed correctly and paid in a timely manner."

When not at work, Dana is most likely spending time with her husband and her dog, Zarya. Except on Friday nights, when she is out playing BINGO! Thank you for all your hard work, Dana! We are so fortunate to have you on this team!

Annual screenings for lung cancer through low-dose CT scans have been proven to reduce deaths in high-risk patients by up to 61%. However, most lung cancer cases are diagnosed at stage 3 or 4. This shows that regular screenings for at-risk individuals are not happening soon enough (and when most treatable). The bottom line? If you're at high risk for lung cancer, talk with your doctor about getting a low-dose CT scan with our team.🫁
