He started the Hospitalist Program in Douglas, Wyoming, where his group was able to win the Press Ganey Award in 2016 for inpatient services in the state of Wyoming. He also has developed clinical interests in Mitochondrial function, Magnesium in biochemical processes, and Epigenetic approaches to medical practice. He finds the best medicine is that which combines complementary and alternative therapies with conventional western medicine. Originally from Italy, Dr. Fars studied medicine at the University of Bologna. He dreamed of hunting and eventually immigrated to the United States. Although he trained in residency in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he also served as Chief Resident, his drive for hunting led him to Wyoming where he has practiced medicine ever since(2001). If you ask his family, they will tell you that Dr. Fars always wanted to be a cowboy, but he became a mountain man instead, taking to the high peaks in search of elk and bragging rights, or at least some good stories to be told at hunting camp. In his spare time, Dr. Fars enjoys spending time with his family.
