Central Wyoming Counseling Center

Central Wyoming Counseling Center Leading behavioral health in Wyoming through our legacy of stewardship, innovation, and compassion Each year, CWCC has grown and adapted to serve our clients.

From our rather small beginnings in 1959, as a largely volunteer-operated mental health clinic, Central Wyoming Counseling Center (CWCC) has grown to offer a wide variety of specialized programs and services. With CWCC’s team of mental health and substance abuse treatment professionals, that include nurses, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, peer specialists and support staff, the center operates three major programs consisting of Outpatient Services, Residential Services, and Recovery Support Services. In 1959, from an empty classroom at the high school, CWCC served 25 people. CWCC helps 4,000 people annually at our 75,000 sq/ft. campus and through our many external programs. CWCC’s dedication to our neighbors is also evident in our staff of over 100 professionals. It is emphasized through the continuing education with 400+ courses provided to all our staff. It is demonstrated by our ability to measure and track processes and successes. And, finally, Wyomings, dedication to CWCC is evidenced by our passionate Board of Directors and continued strong community support.

We believe care should meet people where they are — and that’s exactly what our mobile services team is doing at the .

Our mobile unit regularly travels to the Mission to provide treatment-in-place services, ensuring residents have direct access to mental and behavioral health support without additional barriers.

Through this partnership, we’re able to:
✔️ Connect residents to mental health care
✔️ Provide medication management
✔️ Offer assessments and referrals
✔️ Support individuals navigating substance use and recovery
✔️ Link clients to ongoing, long-term services

For many individuals, transportation, stigma, or instability can make accessing care incredibly difficult. By bringing services directly to the Mission, we’re removing those barriers and increasing connection, dignity, and continuity of care.

If you’d like to learn more about our Mobile Services or how to connect someone to care, call 307-237-9583.

Trauma-informed care shifts the question.

Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with you?” We ask, “What happened to you?”

This approach recognizes that many mental health and behavioral challenges are rooted in lived experiences.

Healing starts with understanding.

Strong bodies need strong minds. 💪🧠

Our adolescent team has been partnering with local athletes at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming to provide mental health agility training alongside youth sports programming.

What is mental health agility?

It’s learning how to:
✔️ Manage performance anxiety
✔️ Build confidence after mistakes
✔️ Regulate emotions during competition
✔️ Develop resilience on and off the field

We’re helping young athletes strengthen their mindset the same way they train their bodies.

We’re proud to support youth in our community in developing skills that last far beyond the game.

We are incredibly grateful to for their generous donation of clothing to Central Wyoming Counseling Center. 💚

Many times, the individuals we serve need support in all areas of life — not just mental and behavioral health. Basic essentials like clothing can make a powerful difference. A clean outfit for a job interview. Comfortable clothes during residential treatment. Appropriate attire for court, school, or a fresh start.

These may seem like small things, but they carry dignity, confidence, and hope.

Community partnerships like this remind us that healing happens when a community shows up for one another.

Thank you, Plato’s Closet, for supporting your community and the individuals we serve. Your generosity truly goes a long way. 💚

March is Social Workers Month — and we simply couldn’t do this work without ours.

Our social workers walk with individuals and families through crisis, recovery, grief, growth, relapse, healing, and everything in between. At Central Wyoming Counseling Center, social workers are often the steady presence in someone’s hardest chapter.

This month, we celebrate their compassion, resilience, and unwavering belief in people.

If a social worker has impacted your life, drop a 💚 in the comments to say thank you.
