Acupressure

Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body’s life force (sometimes known as qi or chi) to aid healing. Acupuncture and acupressure use the same points, but acupuncture employs needles, while acupressure uses the gentle but firm pressure of hands and feet.

Acupressure continues to be the most effective method for self-treatment of tension-related ailments by using the power and sensitivity of the human hand. Acupressure can be effective in helping relieve headaches, eye strain, sinus problems, neck pain, backaches, arthritis, muscle aches, tension due to stress, ulcer pain, menstrual cramps, lower backaches, constipation, and indigestion. Self-acupressure can also be used to relieve anxiety and improve sleep. There are also great advantages to using acupressure as a way to balance the body and maintain good health. The healing touch of acupressure reduces tension, increases circulation, and enables the body to relax deeply. By relieving stress, acupressure strengthens resistance to disease and promotes wellness.

In acupressure, local symptoms are considered an expression of the condition of the body as a whole. A tension headache, for instance, may be rooted in the shoulder and neck area. Thus, acupressure focuses on relieving pain and discomfort, as well as responding to tension, before it develops into a disease—before the constrictions and imbalances can do further damage.

The origins of acupressure are as ancient as the instinctive impulse to hold your forehead or temples when you have a headache. Everyone at one time or another has used their hands spontaneously to hold tense or painful places on the body. More than 5,000 years ago, the Chinese discovered that pressing certain points on the body relieved pain where it occurred and also benefited other parts of the body more remote from the pain and the pressure point. Gradually, they found other locations that not only alleviated pain, but also influenced the functioning of certain internal organs.

(Definition, in part, from the book Acupressure’s Potent Points, by Michael Reed Gach, director of the Acupressure Institute, Bantam, 1990.)

Wrestling and Christianity both crush ego before they build confidence.

The mat does not care who you think you are.
It only cares what you can do.

Christianity is the same.
It starts with humility.
Not hype.
Not self-promotion.

You bow your head before you raise your hands.

In wrestling, you lose in front of people.
You get exposed.
You learn fast that talent without discipline means nothing.

In Christianity, you admit weakness.
You admit you don’t have it all figured out.
You stop pretending.

Both systems reward the same traits.
Work.
Patience.
Submission to something bigger than yourself.

Wrestling humbles the body.
Christianity humbles the soul.

And once humility is built,
real confidence follows.

Not loud confidence.
Quiet confidence.

The kind that lasts.

Let’s talk about faith for a second—real faith, not the bumper-sticker version.

Faith isn’t pretending everything is fine. It’s not denial. It’s not ignoring the chaos in your life and hoping it magically disappears.

Faith is movement.

Faith is forwarding all issues to heaven.

Think about that.

Instead of carrying every fear, every unanswered question, every piece of pressure on your own back, you hand it off. Not because you’re weak, but because you understand you were never meant to carry it alone.

Most of us are drowning under the weight of things we were never designed to manage by ourselves. We replay conversations, worry about outcomes, stress over what we can’t control. We try to think our way into peace. That never works.

Faith says, “I’ve done what I can. Now I trust.”

That doesn’t mean you stop showing up. It means you stop obsessing. You still work. You still plan. You still fight when it’s time to fight. But you let go of the illusion that everything depends on you.

Forwarding your issues to heaven is an act of humility. It’s saying, “I don’t see the whole picture, but I trust the One who does.”

And when you live like that, something shifts. The anxiety loosens its grip. The fear quiets down. You stop reacting to everything and start responding with clarity.

Faith isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about trusting the direction.

Forward it.
Let it go.
And keep moving.

God didn’t call you to be liked — He called you to be light.
And light, by its very nature, makes darkness uncomfortable.

That’s the part nobody warns you about. Everybody loves the idea of being chosen, being called, being used for something bigger — until they realize what that actually requires. Light isn’t soft. Light isn’t passive. Light exposes things. Light reveals what’s been hiding. Light forces truth into places where lies have been living comfortably for years.

And when you start walking in that kind of purpose, don’t expect applause. Expect resistance. Expect people to pull back because the version of you that’s aligned with God makes the version of them that’s aligned with comfort feel threatened. Expect the room to shift. Expect some relationships to fall apart. Because darkness never celebrates the moment light enters the room — it retreats.

You were never called to blend in. You were never meant to fit everybody’s expectations. That’s why you feel different. That’s why you don’t fit into the same circles anymore. That’s why you can’t stomach the things you used to entertain. That’s why certain conversations feel draining, certain environments feel wrong, certain people feel off. It’s not because you’re arrogant — it’s because you’re called.

Light demands separation. It demands elevation. It demands integrity. And people who aren’t ready to face themselves will always take it personally when your presence forces them to. Your clarity exposes their confusion. Your healing exposes their wounds. Your purpose exposes their distractions.

You ever wonder why some folks get uncomfortable when you start growing? It’s because your transformation confronts their stagnation. It’s because your relationship with God disrupts the fake peace they built on denial. It’s because your light reveals the shadows they thought nobody saw.

And here’s the raw part — if your goal is to be liked, you’re going to dim your light every time it makes someone squint. You’ll shrink yourself to make people comfortable. You’ll mute your calling to avoid their criticism. You’ll settle for acceptance instead of assignment.

But God didn’t bring you this far to have you live watered-down and worried about opinions that don’t matter. He didn’t pull you out of darkness so you could play small to protect people who prefer the shadows.

Your purpose will offend those who’ve never met theirs.
Your growth will irritate those who stopped growing.
Your faith will bother those whose fear runs their life.
Your light will expose what they’ve been hiding from — even from themselves.

And that’s okay. You’re not here to be liked. You’re here to illuminate. To elevate. To guide. To stand firm in truth even when it’s uncomfortable. Especially when it’s uncomfortable.

Because the world doesn’t need more people pleasing — it needs more people shining. It needs voices that bring clarity. Hearts that bring warmth. Lives that point back to something bigger than themselves.

So let them be uncomfortable. Let them talk. Let them misunderstand. That tension is proof you’re walking in something real. Darkness never fights darkness — it only fights light.

Keep shining anyway.
Keep walking anyway.
Keep doing what God called you to do anyway.

You weren’t chosen to be liked.
You were chosen to be light.
And light always wins.

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1)

Dear God,
Help those who feel isolated or disconnected to find a place to belong and grow in faith. May we shine brightly together for Your glory.

In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Move like it’s already handled—because it is.
Mindset = engine. Faith = fuel. No more second-guessing. Show up like the work is done and you’re just walking it out.

Speak it. Walk it. Own it. Doubt doesn’t belong in a vision this big. When you move with belief, the universe moves with you. Doors swing open. People align. Opportunities appear.

You’ve survived too much to shrink now. Trust your process. Trust your pace. Trust that every rep, every step, every sacrifice is stacking.

Keep grinding. Keep going.
The payoff is coming.
